MJB, Nas & Chance The Rapper Will Headline The Blue Note Jazz Fest In Napa

Following its New York staging, the 2023 Blue Note Jazz Festival will move to the west coast for three days of live music and laughs. It will be presented on July 28th, 29th and 30th at the Silverado Resort – 1600 Atlas Peak Road – in Napa, California, from 12noon to 11pm, which is when the after party begins.

The impressive lineup includes Robert Glasper, Dave Chappelle, Mary J. Blige, Nas, Chance The Rapper, Ari Lennox, Bilal, Lalah Hathaway, Rakim & DJ Jazzy Jeff, Talib Kweli & Madlib, Meshell Ndegeocello, Digable Planets, Rapsody, Bobby McFerrin, 9th Wonder, and many more. Get additional info here.

Grammy Adds New Category: ‘Best African Music Performance’

Next year’s Grammys will feature a new category created specifically to recognize the rise and popularity of Afrobeats. At a meeting in May, the trustees voted to introduce the Best African Music Performance category, as well as awards for Best Alternative Jazz Album and Best Pop Dance Recording.

In a statement, the organizers said the following about the new African category: “it recognizes recordings that utilize unique local expressions from across the African continent.”

R&B Music Experience (New York Edition)

Experience the best in R&B at the Barclays Center – 620 Atlantic Avenue – in Brooklyn, New York, on Friday, June 30. There will be performances by Xscape, Ginuwine, Tevin Campbell, Mya, H-Town, 112, Silk and the one and only Funk Flex. DJ A-One and WBLS’ JusNik will handle hosting duties.

The R&B Music Experience is being presented by Global Events Production. Tickets can be purchased from Ticketmaster, and showtime is 7:30pm.

TMF & TON3S Join Anthony Hamilton On Father’s Day Event

On Father’s Day – June 18th, 2023 – Grammy-winning R&B artist, Anthony Hamilton, will perform at the Cadence Bank Amphitheatre (Chastain Park) in Atlanta, Georgia. He will be joined by the all-star band TMF, also known as The Music Forever, and TON3S (formerly The Hamiltones).

This event, which will double as a june-teenth celebration, is being presented by Twilight Productions 2. Confirmed host is MC Lightfoot.

Charlie Wilson & Chaka Khan Will Share The Oxbow River Stage On July 14

On Friday, July 14th, music legends Charlie Wilson and Chaka Khan will perform on the Oxbow River Stage – 1268 McKinstry Street – in Napa, California. The show will commence at 7pm local time, and tickets, which are available now via ticketmaster, start at $94 USD and can go all the way up to $164, depending on seating and purchase date.

Bruno Mars’ Upcoming Show Dates

In a few days Bruno Mars will head to Seoul, Korea, where he will do back-to-back shows at the Jamsil Olympic Stadium on the 17th and 18th of June. From there he will travel to the Philippines, then Las Vegas, Brazil, Chile etc.

The artist will be on the road until early October, wrapping up in Tel Aviv, Israel on the 7th. See all confirmed shows below.

Mobay Funfest 2023 Set For June 22nd – 26th
