“Glasses After Dark” Brings Love, Soul & Hip Hop to Detroit This Labor Day

C2 Productions presents “Glasses After Dark: Love, Soul & Hip Hop Festival,” billed as the biggest Labor Day concert in Detroit, set for Monday, September 7, 2026, at the Aretha Franklin Amphitheatre, 2600 Atwater Street.

The lineup features a strong mix of R&B and hip-hop talent, including Blackstreet, The Lox, State Property (featuring Beanie Sigel, Freeway, and Peedi Crakk), Twista, Chrisette Michele, Tweet, Adina Howard, and FakeFree KP.

ATC Presents Beats, Vibes & Rosé, billed as New York’s ultimate old-school rooftop day concert, on Sunday, September 27, 2026, at The Rooftop at Pier 17 in New York City.

The 21-and-over event will feature performances from hip-hop legends Rakim and Nice & Smooth, along with Latin freestyle favorite Judy Torres. The musical lineup will also include Hot 97 FM’s DJ Camilo, The Block 94.7 FM’s Ted Smooth, Bronx native DJ Lucho, Rob Lo, Mike Torres, and Ralphie Mercado. The event will be hosted by Nick Storm.

UnWine Festival 2026

Grammy-nominated R&B artist Musiq Soulchild will headline this year’s UnWine Festival, hosted by Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission (M-NCPPC) Parks & Recreation. The event takes place Saturday, September 26, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Patuxent River Park, located at 16000 Croom Airport Rd, Upper Marlboro, Maryland.

Joining Musiq Soulchild on the lineup are Allure Band, Got My Own Sound, and Sirius Company, promising a full day of live music, food, and wine tastings under the festival’s “live more, play more” spirit. The show will be directed by Nori Noir, with non-stop music provided by DJ Dirty Rico.

Talib Kweli Confirmed for Cranium Festival in Ottawa

Legendary hip-hop artist Talib Kweli will take the stage in Ottawa on Thursday, September 10, 2026, as part of Cranium Festival 2026. The performance will take place at the Bronson Centre, where Kweli will perform with a live band from 7:30 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.

Presented by Cranium Arts Project, the 19+ event will feature music by DJ Karyen and hosting duties by Cheko7even. The performance is part of the five-day celebration running September 9–13 across Ottawa, showcasing hip-hop, R&B, soul and Afrovibes while bringing together established and emerging talent.

Known for his thought-provoking lyricism and influential contributions to hip-hop, Talib Kweli has built an acclaimed career spanning more than two decades. His Ottawa appearance promises to be a highlight of this year’s festival, particularly with the added energy of a live band.

Cranium Festival 2026 also features a broader lineup of artists including Che_Nous, Lindasson, SLM, Romeo Don’t Die, Simora and Avery Jane, with performers appearing throughout the festival’s multi-day program.

Atlanta’s V-103 is marking its 50th anniversary with a special Labor Day Weekend R&B Concert on Sunday, September 6, 2026, at the Synovus Bank Amphitheater at Chastain Park.

The celebration will feature R&B artists Raphael Saadiq and Ari Lennox. It is presented by The People’s Station V-103 and Live Nation, with Greathouse Trial Law serving as the main sponsor.

Stage Red Fontana, a live entertainment venue located at 8463 Sierra Ave in Fontana, California, has announced that R&B group NEXT is confirmed, and will perform on August 30, 2026.

NEXT rose to prominence in the late 1990s with their debut album Rated Next, but their breakthrough came with the 1998 smash hit “Too Close,” which topped both the Billboard Hot 100 and Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs charts. The song’s infectious groove, smooth harmonies and provocative lyrics helped establish NEXT as one of the defining R&B groups of the era.

French-Cameroonian singer-songwriter Irma has released the official video for her single, “Nobody Wins.” The visual premiered on her official YouTube channel on August 19, 2026.

The intimate video places Irma in a quiet, rural setting, where she is seen sitting in a yard, singing and playing her guitar. At various moments, she writes in a notebook, creating the impression that she is putting the lyrics to the song onto paper as she performs.

The visual also incorporates simple glimpses of everyday life, including Irma eating, brushing her teeth and quietly taking in her natural surroundings. The understated approach complements the reflective nature of “Nobody Wins,” allowing the song and Irma‘s performance to remain the focus.
