Turbulence Outlines the “Rasta Commandments” in New Release

Reggae and dancehall recording artist Turbulence is making a bold statement with his latest single, “Rasta Commandments,” which was released on June 7, 2026.

Performed on the Abu Dhabi Riddim and produced by Track Starr, the hard-hitting dancehall track serves as a declaration of principles rooted in Rastafarian beliefs. Throughout the song, Turbulence emphasizes that Rastafarians do not support homosexuality and underscores the importance of remaining steadfast in that position. He also denounces pedophilia and rape, making it clear that such acts have no place within the Rastafarian community.

The release has generated discussion among fans and supporters of conscious reggae and dancehall, with Turbulence using the platform to express his views on morality and cultural identity.

The official music video for “Rasta Commandments” was released on June 19, and is available for viewing on Turbulence‘s YouTube channel.

Blending reggae and dancehall influences, the 11-track project signals a career-defining moment for Tommie Tei. While the artist has previously released several singles and a six-track EP, “Progress” represents his first full-length studio album.

The record primarily features new material, with only two previously shared songs included: “Still Can Make It” (track #4) and “Happy And Free” (track #7). Production duties were divided among Young Kush Records, responsible for nine tracks on the album, K-Jah Sound, which created “Happy And Free,” and Ghetto Life Records, which handled “Still Can Make It.” The overall project was mixed and mastered by Andre Green.

According to Tommie Tei, listeners have been responding positively to the album. “I am getting a very good response towards the album, persons are liking different songs, especially Work Harder and Happy And Free,” he said.

When asked what he hopes listeners will take away from the project, Tommie Tei pointed to the album’s title. “I would like listeners to think about the title of the album. The name of the project is what we all need in our day-to-day life.”
