A House Is Not A Home by Hopeton Lindo and Marcia Griffiths – reggae single release

A classic in every sense of the word, ‘A House Is Not A Home’ is loved by singers and songwriters alike. Consider Hopeton Lindo and Marcia Griffiths among its admirers.

Their version of the Burt Bacharach/Hal David ballad will be released on August 29. It is co-produced by Lindo for Irie Pen Records and Syl Gordon for Cell Block Records.

‘A House Is Not A Home’ is also the latest single released from ‘This Song’s For You,’Lindo’s latest album, which was released on July 18 by Zojak Worldwide. Lindo, one of reggae’s premier songwriters, says he always loved the song, which was originally recorded by Dionne Warwick in 1964.

After deciding to cover ‘A House Is Not A Home,’ he called on Marcia Griffiths, the acclaimed Queen of Reggae, to share the mic. The result is a riveting, mid-tempo track that does the original justice.

‘A House Is Not A Home’ is one of 10 songs on ‘This Song’s For You,’ a quality project that includes number one singles such as ‘Silent Consent’ and ‘Favorite Girl,’ plus other quality standout tracks like the title track, ‘Hot Number,’ ‘Glowing,’ ‘Up On The Roof,’ and ‘Good Woman.’ The entire album is awesome.

Hopeton Lindo and Marcia Griffiths appear poised to achieve yet another major chart-topper with “A House Is Not A Home.”

This Year’s Simcoe Music Festival Has Been Postponed To 2026

On August 20th, the organizers of the Simcoe Music Festival announced that they will be postponing the event, which was scheduled for September 1st in Bradford, Ontario, to 2026. The following is a statement they shared on their social media platform.

“To our amazing community, artists, vendors, and supporters — after much thought and consideration, we’ve made the decision to postpone the Simcoe Music Festival (SMF) until 2026.

We know this may come as a disappointment, but the current event landscape is saturated, and the support we anticipated hasn’t come through as hoped. Rather than compromise the quality and spirit of SMF, we’re choosing to take the time we need to plan ahead, build stronger partnerships, and come back even better.

We’re keeping the vibes alive and the lineup strong — and we’ll be sharing the new date as soon as it’s confirmed.

Thank you for your continued love and support. SMF isn’t going anywhere — we’re just pressing pause so we can hit play even louder in 2026.”

Tasjay Productions Drops “2 Time 2 Riddim” Compilation

On August 8, Tasjay Productions released “2 Time 2 Riddim,” a reggae compilation featuring a diverse lineup of voices and themes. The initial three-track project introduced songs from Horace Martin, Esdras IS-RA-EL, and label artist Rad Dixon. Shortly after its release, Canadian reggae singer Tony Anthony was added to the mix, expanding the compilation’s scope and resonance.

Each track contributes a distinct flavor to the project. Horace Martin’s “Married Man” explores the complexities of love and lust within an affair, while Esdras IS-RA-EL takes a more traditional route with “I Love You,” a heartfelt tribute to his partner. Together, their songs bring intimacy and emotion to the riddim.

On the other side of the spectrum, Rad Dixon and Tony Anthony steer the compilation toward social and spiritual reflection. Dixon’s contribution, “Nah Trust,” confronts politics and the role of politicians—an especially timely message given Jamaica’s current election season. Anthony closes out the project with his interpretation of “Precious Lord,” the classic gospel hymn written by Thomas A. Dorsey in 1932, offering a soulful and reverent finish.

Smooth, melodic, and thematically balanced, “2 Time 2 Riddim” shows Tasjay Productions’ ability to bring together different aspects of reggae—from romance to protest to worship. It’s a concise yet powerful project that deserves a place in the playlists of reggae enthusiasts everywhere.
