Wu-Tang Clan Continues To Elevate Hip-Hop

With all that was done last year in honor of hip-hop’s 50th Anniversary, many fans of the genre believe that this year – 2024 – may actually turn out to be better than last.

One of the things they use to support that thought is Wu-Tang Clan: The Saga Continues… Las Vegas Residency, which is scheduled to commence on February 9th in the Theater at Virgin Hotels. This is historic, and it’s the group’s first-ever Las Vegas residency.

Kerwin Du Bois Is Avoiding “Energy Killers”

On his latest single, Energy Killers, Trinidadian recording artist Kerwin Du Bois explains why he prefers to stay by himself. Using a groovy soca rhythm, and with a catchy melody, the man from Port of Spain gives the impression that he prefers a simple existence, one without the crowd and hype.

The official video for Energy Killers, though beautifully done, is as laid back and addictive as the song itself. If you have not yet seen it, click here or on the image above to check it out, and remember to like, comment and share.

Kurtiouss’ Story

Ricardo Wray, known publicly as Kurtiouss, is a singer, songwriter and lyrical deejay (sing-jay) who hails from a small district called Hesse Cassel in the parish of St. Ann (Jamaica).

Following in the footsteps of his father, and much like other members of his family, Kurtiouss fell in love with music at a very young age. His passion for beats, melodies, and organized words became evident when he relocated to Kingston to attend school. It is there that he became fascinated with the local sound systems, and really began toying with the idea of pursuing a career as a recording artist. His desires intensified when he started doing dubplates for sounds in and around his community.

He frequently visited and performed at RJR Radio Station, as well as at the Colgate Cavity Fighters Club, which was a popular program designed for youths at the time. However, as he grew, so did the stages he would perform on. That said, he has entertained crowds at Asylum, Cactus Night Club, and other established venues. He has also shared the stage with several top-tier artists, with one of his fondest memories being his performance at Delly Ranx‘s birthday party.

To date, Kurtiouss has released one full-length studio album – Calling in February, 2020 – and a number of singles. Inspired by veteran performers like Garnett Silk, Beres Hammond, Beenie Man, Buju Banton, and General Degree, Kurtiouss‘ music can be aptly described as refreshing, positive, inspirational, and authentic. Authentic because he is not trying to sound like, or be like anyone else.

Kurtiouss‘ goal is simply to use his music to spread love, inspire, and entertain people, globally.

New York’s Groovin Radio Now Broadcasting Globally!

Earlier this year, WVIP 93.5FM stopped broadcasting in New York after serving the Caribbean diaspora community for almost 40 years. It was the end of an era. The dial went silent on Thursday, August 31st when the last program aired at midnight. Hope Media Group signed on soon after with Spanish programs.

After weeks of deliberation, on Christmas Eve – Sunday, December 24 – Groovin Radio began ‘on air’ testing online at groovinRadioNY-dot-com, and based on the overwhelming feedback, host Ras Clem has announced that starting Saturday, December 30th, 2023, The Groovin Radio Experience will start streaming live on groovinRadioNY-dot-com from 9am – 12noon. Additionally, the site will stream great music and interviews all day everyday.
