On Friday, May 17th, Journey Music dropped a new collaborative single – Build Ah Fence – performed by Patrice Roberts from Trinidad, and Busy Signal from Jamaica.

Shortly after teasing out the lead single, Reggae Vibes Music – the Jamaican record label with offices in New York, Atlanta and Kingston – released the Natural Vibes Riddim. The project dropped in early February (2024), and almost immediately went viral within the global reggae community.
It first captured the attention of reggae lovers because of the artists featured on the project: Busy Signal, Jah Cure, Turbulence, Pressure Busspipe, Powerman, Lutan Fyah, Kurtiouss, Jay Shephard, Rufftop Rock I, and Ginjah. However, once they press play, listeners soon become enraptured by the pulsating reggae rhythm, the beautiful melodies, and the messages about love, race and spirituality.
Using their tried and tested marketing methods, Reggae Vibes Music has secured high-level placements for the compilation on reggae platforms in various countries. Additionally, several songs from the rhythm have been added to top-tier reggae playlists, and can be heard on some of the biggest reggae radio shows all over the world.

After a lot of back-and-forth, Alwayne Love‘s management and marketing team has announced that his new single, Africa the Motherland, will finally be released on Friday, June 28th, 2024.
For those not in the know, Alwayne Love is one of reggae music’s best-kept secrets. After having two breakout singles many years ago under the moniker J Love, and then subsequently taking a long hiatus from the industry, the singer, songwriter, and producer is back!
The 2024 St. Kitts Music Festival will take place over a three-day period (June 27-29) at the Warner Park Cricket Stadium in Basseterre, Saint Kitts and Nevis. This multi-genre event will feature live afrobeat, soca, hip-hop, r&b, reggae, dancehall, and world music acts.
Among the performers are Third World, Mary J. Blige, Eazi, Kabaka Pyramid, Freddie Jackson, Nadia Batson, Busy Signal, Tony Rebel, Kerwin Du Bois, Capleton, Mical Teja, and others. Click here to buy tickets.
Sizzla Kalonji, Bugle, Jigsy King, and Tony Curtis will all perform at the Fyah Reggae concert at Stadium Event Center – 421 Maiden Lane – in Fayetteville, North Carolina, on Saturday, June 22nd. They will be supported by three sounds: Jungle Hawk, Vibestar, and Techniques Disco.

On May 17, the official video for Fire Burnin’, the debut single from Josh Harris‘ all-star band, The Spiral Mixers, premiered on YouTube. Consistent with the lyrics, the visuals, which were shot in both Jamaica and the United States, were captured on railway lines and trains. It was directed by the creative team at Big Feet Records, the label owned and operated by Harris.
Fire Burnin‘ is an inspirational reggae tune that encourages listeners to stay focus on what’s ahead, regardless of what they’ve gone through in the past. Though penned by Harris, the lead and harmony were sung by 60s breakout vocalist Glen Ricks, formerly of The Fabulous Flames.
Another musician that contributed to the one-drop reggae rhythm is Greg Douglass, one of the members of The Spiral Mixers. He played an outstanding guitar riff on top of Carlton “Santa” Davis‘ drumming. Bass and keyboards were done by Josh Harris, and it was mixed by Tommi Tikkenen and mastered by Earle Holder.
Fire Burnin’ is the lead single from The Spiral Mixers album, Crossing Bridges, that’s scheduled to be released on May 31st.
