Father Pow’s Earthstrong

The man behind the immortal Stone Love Sound, Father Pow, will be celebrating his birthday at D Lux Restaurant & Lounge – 1A Caledonia Avenue – in Kingston, Jamaica, on Saturday, March 16.

Krazy Kris from Kool FM, Boom Boom, Harry Hype, Niney Badness, DJ Ray, and Welton Irie will all be on hand to join in the festivity. Additionally, reggae recording artist Prophecy will be performing.

Fort Lauderdale Vybes Fest

On Saturday, March 9th, Feel Good Boss, in association with Jamruss Production, will present the Fort Lauderdale Vybes Fest at The Garden (4340 North State Road 7) in Lauderdale Lakes, Florida.

It will feature performances by Shane O, I Octane, Vershon, Ras Blinga, Lockit, and Guidance, with support from Fire Reds, Shawn 13 T&R, DJ Ruxie, and Cardo on the turntables. Admission is $50 at the gate.

Jamaica’s Governor-General Announces 24-hour Entertainment Zone

During his 2024/2025 Throne Speech in the the House of Representatives on Thursday, February 15, Jamaica’s Governor-General, His Excellency the Most Honorable Sir Patrick Allen made the following statement.

To further enhance the country’s excellence in entertainment, the Portmore-based JamWorld Entertainment Complex is being renovated for the facility to be the first 24-hour Entertainment Zone, to address the need for designated entertainment areas.

Jah Vinci Confirmed For Slaughter Tone’s 3rd Memorial

On Saturday, February 24th, the Slaughta Tone Foundation will present the third annual memorial for popular business man/selector, Slaughter Tone. The event will be held at Club Silk of Candler – 2930 Ember Drive – in Decatur, Georgia, starting at 10:00 PM local time.

Needless to say several high-ranking deejays will be on hand to honor their former colleague: Tony Matterhorn, Dun Rich Muzic, Navis Boom, Bugsy Bam Bam, and DJ Fiyah Feelings. Additionally, there will be a live set by international dancehall artist Jah Vinci.

Capleton Will Perform At Ranny Williams Ent. Centre This Friday

The next Young Reggae Ambassadors showcase, which is a part of a series happening throughout Reggae Month, will take place this Friday – February 16 – at the Ranny Williams Entertainment Centre in Kingston, Jamaica.

The Young Reggae Ambassadors confirmed for this staging are Andrew Tosh, Janeel Mills, Angel Eyes, and Ras-I. Veteran reggae-dancehall artist Capleton will also be performing as this week’s special guest. This event is absolutely free to the public!

New Video From Ghost Ft. Bounty Killer “Despite It All”

At the end of January Ghost uploaded the official video for Despite It All to his YouTube channel. For those not in the know, this song – which is a collaboration done with Bounty Killer – was first shared in late September of 2023 via MS Music.

Literally a day after the video was published, Jamaica’s local government election date was announced. This information is relevant because the visuals tell the story of Jamaicans struggling to get by, while both political parties mislead the nation as they, the politicians, forge ahead.

Little John’s Birthday Celebration

At the end of March, on the 30th to be exact, several veteran reggae and dancehall artists will be at Colonel Lawn in Stewart Town, St. Mary (Jamaica) for Little John‘s Birthday Celebration. Members of the public will be gladly received, providing they pay the cover charge of $6,000 JMD at the gate.

Ken Boothe, Errol Dunkley, Professor Nuts, Leroy Sibbles, Terry Ganzie, Josey Wales, Carl Dawkins, Peter Metro, Fred Locks, Danny English, Fantan Mojah, Louie Culture, George Nooks, Admiral Bailey, Determine, Duane Stephenson, V.C, and Nitty Kutchie, are just some of the names that will be at this event.
