This summer, one of the Pacific Northwest’s most anticipated cultural festivals returns to the heart of Seattle’s Central District. Umoja Fest 2025 is set to take place on August 2–3, 2025, at Judkins Park (2150 S. Norman St., Seattle, WA 98144), bringing together families, neighbors, and visitors from across the region to honor and celebrate the vibrancy of Black and African diaspora culture.

At the core of Umoja Fest is its deep connection to Seattle’s Africatown and the enduring spirit of the Central District. The festivities kick off with the Africatown Heritage Parade March on Saturday, August 2, at 1:00 PM. Throughout the weekend, families can explore a dynamic lineup of attractions, including Children’s Village, Vendor Marketplace, Delicious Local Eats, Community-Centered Activities, and Live Music Performances.

The live show will feature local and national stars, including the legendary Johnny Gill, hip-hop icon Mr. Cheeks, and dance floor favorite Cupid The Line Dance King.

Praise Break ’25: A Day of Unstoppable Worship in the Bahamas

Presented by We Are Family, HC Promo, and Tango Entertainment, Praise Break ‘25 arrives on Saturday, August 9, 2025, at the breathtaking Nassau Port Amphitheatre in the Bahamas. From 2PM to 2AM, this 12-hour worship celebration promises to be a transformative encounter filled with music, unity, and praise that knows no boundaries.

Headliners bringing heaven to earth are Shirley Caesar, the legendary “First Lady of Gospel”; Kevin Downswell, the internationally celebrated Jamaican worship leader; and Bri Babineaux, the dynamic voice behind a new generation of gospel. Faith Assembly Church of God of Prophecy (COGOP) has announced its upcoming Praise Gospel Concert, set to take place on Saturday, August 2, 2025, at 6:00 PM. The uplifting event will be hosted at Miracle Temple, located at 4930 Old Pleasant Hill Road, Kissimmee, Florida.

This evening of worship and praise will be headlined by none other than Minister Bridget Blucher, the celebrated Caribbean gospel singer and humanitarian from St. Vincent and the Grenadines. Known for her soul-stirring vocals and heartfelt ministry, Minister Blucher has inspired audiences worldwide with her message of faith, hope, and resilience.

‘Solid as a Rock’: A Star-Studded Celebration of Jamaica’s 63rd Independence in Lauderhill

The city of Lauderhill, in collaboration with Ladjely Inc. and AD Enterprises, present ‘Solid as a Rock,’ a celebration marking Jamaica’s 63rd Independence. This highly anticipated cultural event will take place on Sunday, August 3, 2025, at the Lauderhill Performing Arts Center (LPAC), located at 3800 NW 11th Place, Lauderhill, FL. Festivities will begin promptly at 6:00 PM EDT.

Headlining this year’s celebration is none other than the legendary Sizzla Kalonji, a pillar of conscious reggae and dancehall music. Joining him on stage are icons of Jamaican music including the trailblazing Lady G, the soulful Etana, the inspirational Admiral Tibet, the smooth vocals of Hal Anthony, and the beloved Roy Rayon, known as a “Festival Icon.” These musical heavyweights will be backed by the electrifying Code Red Band.

Full Lineup for Cece Winans’ “More Than This” Concert in Jamaica

Multi-award-winning gospel recording artist CeCe Winans “More Than This” world tour began in February of this year. So far, the “Goodness of God” singer has performed in approximately 15 states across the United States, completed at least three shows in the United Kingdom, and is now preparing for a major concert in Jamaica on August 1st.

Montreal’s Rise Reggae Festival

A slew of top-tier reggae and dancehall acts are confirmed for the upcoming Rise Reggae Festival in Montreal. It will take place on August 8-10 at Bassin Peel (a public area that is part of the Lachine Canal National Historic Site) locatedat 1049 De la Commune St W, in Montreal, Quebec.

The three-day event will feature performances by Sister Nancy, Demarco, Lady G, Kranium, and Massive B on day 1 (Aug. 8th); Romain Virgo, Anthony B, and Gramps Morgan on day 2 (Aug. 9th); and Alison Hinds, Patrice Roberts, and Skinny Fabulous on day 3 (Aug. 10th).
