Etana Drops New Album “Dubclaat”

On September 19, 2025, Jamaican singer and songwriter Etana delivered a surprise release. Her latest project, “Dubclaat”, is a full-length dub album issued through her independent label, Freemind Music Records. The record reimagines eleven of her previously released tracks, transforming them into atmospheric, bass-driven dub mixes that highlight the timelessness of her music.

The album revisits some of Etana’s most celebrated songs, including “Spread Love,” “100 on the Highway,” and “Jah Love.” Each track is stripped down and rebuilt with the spacious echo, heavy reverb, and pulsing rhythms that define the dub tradition. In doing so, Etana not only honors her reggae foundation but also broadens her sound for audiences who embrace the meditative qualities of dub music.

Dub emerged from Jamaica in the late 1960s and 1970s as an offshoot of reggae, pioneered by studio innovators like King Tubby and Lee “Scratch” Perry. What began as experimental remixes of popular reggae tracks grew into its own art form—one that went on to influence electronic music, hip hop, and sound system culture worldwide. The style has long held a devoted following across Europe and the UK, where dub sound systems remain central to grassroots music communities.

With “Dubclaat”,Etana taps into this legacy while bringing her own artistry forward. The album offers a calming, immersive listening experience—easygoing enough for casual play yet rich with details for devoted fans of reggae and dub. For Etana, who has consistently pushed boundaries throughout her career, the project is both a return to roots and a step into fresh creative space.

“Dubclaat” is now streaming on Spotify, Apple Music, iTunes, Tidal, Amazon Music, and all major platforms.

Zamunda’s Truth & His Journey

On August 22, Jamaican reggae singer Zamunda released his latest album, “My Truth, My Journey”, an eleven-track project that reflects his spiritual convictions, social commentary, and views on relationships.

The overt Rastafarian opens the album with two faith-centered songs, “No One But You Lord” and “Every Morning”, grounding the project in spirituality. He then turns his attention to pressing social issues, condemning gun violence and warning youths against the pull of gangs and destructive paths.

Love also finds its space in Zamunda’s journey. Tracks like “Girl With You” (featuring Kelly Shane), “Love Love”, and “Care For Me” bring warmth and tenderness, showcasing another side of the artist. At the same time, he makes room to honor reggae itself—affirming that the genre is alive while pushing back against what he sees as misguided trends in contemporary reggae music.

Two songs have already been given visuals: “No One But You Lord” and “Free Up”, the latter featuring Paris-based reggae singer Bazil. Together, they highlight Zamunda’s artistic growth and commitment to his musical journey.

“My Truth, My Journey” is available now on all streaming platforms via Boxy Record—a project that captures Zamunda not only as a musician, but as a man standing firmly in his truth.

Nanimus Music reshares Lutan Fyah’s “World Peace”

Initially released as a track on the “Hol a Prayer Riddim”Lutan Fyah‘s song “World Peace” was just reshared as a standalone single. The timely resharing of this record is particularly significant given the ongoing conflicts in parts of Europe, escalating gang violence in some Caribbean countries, and the forced displacement in the Gaza Strip.

Interestingly, although the “Hol a Prayer Riddim” was published in the fall of 2020—a time when we were grappling with lockdowns and the many uncertainties brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic—every word in Lutan Fyah‘s song remains just as relevant today as it was back then. This reality is troubling and demonstrates that Lutan Fyah has always been ahead of his time in terms of his lyrical content.

“World Peace,” an inspirational reggae song fused with R&B, was produced by Everton Augustus Wint, the founder of the independent record label Nanimus Music Ltd. Both the single “World Peace” and the “Hol a Prayer Riddim” compilation are available on Apple Music, Spotify, Deezer, Tidal, and all other major streaming platforms.
