Beyoncé’s “2023 Renaissance World Tour” Kicks Off In May

Beyoncé took to social media on February 1st to let her 290 million + followers know that she will be kicking off the highly anticipated Renaissance World Tour in May. So far she has announced forty-one shows, with the first being in Stockholm, Sweden on May 10th.

The EU leg of the tour will see Queen Bee performing in both stadiums and arenas before returning to North America for shows in Canada and the U.S. All dates, locations and links to tickets can be found on her website.

Hip-Hop Museum Gets A $5 Million Endorsement!

The Universal Hip-Hop Museum, which broke ground in 2021 in the Bronx, has gotten a major cash endorsement to the tune of $5 million. The federal grant will go towards completing construction on the museum, as well as other local programs and initiatives.

This past Sunday, on January 29th, several hip-hop veterans gathered with senators and legislators for the announcement and celebration. On hand were Grandmaster Flash, G. Simone, KRS-One, and others. The Universal Hip-Hop Museum is located at 610 Exterior Street, in The Bronx.

Born Fire Promotions and Reggae Vibes Music – the companies powering the upcoming Black & Proud Concert in New York – have announced the full and final lineup, as well as locations to purchase physical tickets.

On Saturday, February 25th, patrons at Club Amazura – located in Queens – will be treated to a live reggae show like no other. Some of the industry’s best performers will share the stage, with the main headliner, Anthony B, leading the way. The original fireman will be joined by Turbulence, Kabaka Pyramid, Perfect Giddimani, Pressure Busspipe, Dreama, Kendallaz, and Rufftop Rock I; who will all be backed by the Gennaroots Band.

Chris Martin, George Nooks & Others To Honor Dennis Brown On Feb. 1

Reggae Month 2023 will kick off with a live concert celebrating the crown prince Dennis Brown. Scheduled for Wednesday, February 1st at Festival Marketplace (Kingston Waterfront), it will feature live performances by Chris Martin, Ras-I, George Nooks, Miguel, Shanice Sewell and Rissa. It will begin at 6pm and it’s absolutely free.

Dennis Emmanuel Brown CD was born on the 1st day of February in 1957. His birthday is celebrated every year in reggae communities all over the world.

Spanner Banner’s Birthday Celebration Set For Feb. 10th In NY

Joseph Bonner, more popular known as Spanner Banner, was born on the same day as legendary reggae artist Bob Marley (February 6th).

Spanner Banner‘s birthday celebration will be held on February 10th at Prestige Bar & Lounge – 40W Merrick Road – in Freeport, Long Island, New York. In addition to the guest of honor, there will also be appearances by Singer Irie, Bobby Lickshot, and Mad Dog; with host Sam Gotti and special guest Suzie Q.

This is a live band show that will also double as a pre-valentines party. Doors will open at 8pm, and there is a $20 admission fee.
