Dis Poem Wordz & Agro Fest Is This Sunday

The annual Dis Poem Wordz & Agro Festival is all set for Sunday, April 30th, at the College of Agriculture Science and Education in Port Antonio, Portland. At this year’s staging there will be a tribute to Jamaican dub poet and storyteller, Jean “Binta” Breeze, who passed away in 2021.

The event will feature several poets as well as some musical guests, namely: Informative History Man, Steppa, Dr. Olive Senior, Mutabaruka, Ras Takura, DYCR, Blaq Ice, Warrior King, Minka, Ras Osagyefo, Skripcha, Dawitt St. Aubin, Charlie Bobus, Yung Muta, Wise Wurdz, and that is just to name a few. It will start at 10AM and end at 7PM, and there is a $3,000 entrance fee.

Papa San, Jekalyn Carr, Hezekiah Walker & Others For OFK’s 12th Anniversary Concert

Our Father’s Kingdom Ministries, a vision of Senior Pastor Tyrone Thompson – also known as Papa San – will be having their 12 Year Anniversary Concert on Sunday, May 7th. The ministry was started back in 2011 with his wife Debbie Thompson, who is also a senior pastor.

As they work to improve the church grounds, the upcoming celebration’s objective is to aid in the building fund. It will take place at the Miramar Cultural Center – 2400 Civic Center Place – in Miramar, Florida, and will feature performances by Jekalyn Carr, Hezekiah Walker, Kevin Heath, Patricia Bowen, the OFK Praise Team, and Papa San. Chezidek Shares New Album “Never Stop”

Chezidek‘s new album – Never Stop – was released on April 14th via Irie Ites Records and Evidence Music. It covers a wide range of topics such as social issues, romance, spirituality, etc.

Bushman Says Thanks To Party-Goers (@NyahManBushman)

Bushman‘s earth-strong celebration went off without an itch! The event took place this past Sunday at 8 Rivaz Ultra Lounge in Ocho Rios; and the people – especially young people – came out to support the reggae legend. There were performances by Turbulence, Natural Black, Fantan Mojah and Bushman; as well as surprise appearances by Natty King and several other artists. 

Following the show – on Monday – Bushman took to social media to thank his supporters. He posted: “Great party vibes in Ocho Rios for Bushman Earthstrong! Thanks to all who came out to 8 Rivaz Ultra Lounge!” The singer and his team are promising a more superior affair next year; one that will be tied into the annual 4/20 celebration (the observation of herb).

‘R&B Summer Nights’ Goes Down On May 27th In Houston

Four big rhythm-and-blues stars: Tweet, Carl Thomas, Chrisette Michelle, and Dave Hollister, will headline the upcoming R&B Summer Nights concert on Saturday, May 27th at the Arena Theatre in Houston, Texas.

Rapper, actor, musician and radio personality Ed Lover will joined the aforementioned performers. Showtime is 8pm, and tickets are available via ticketmaster.

Catch Lupe Fiasco & B.O.B Live In Chandler, AZ Next Month (@LupeFiasco)

Two of the most entertaining rappers: Lupe Fiasco and B.O.B, will share the stage on Sunday, May 28th at the Gila River Resorts & Casinos – 5040 Wild Horse Pass Blvd. – in Chandler, Arizona.

Lupe Fiasco is a Chicago-born, Grammy award-winning rapper, record producer, entrepreneur, and community advocate. He rose to fame in 2006 following the success of his debut album, Food & Liquor. Lupe has released eight acclaimed studio albums; his latest being Drill Music In Zion, released in June 2022. As for B.O.B, he is a Grammy-nominated rapper who is also a record producer.

Sasco Will Perform At The Art Walk Festival This Sunday

Every last sunday of the month, Kingston Creative in partnership with the Tourism Enhancement Fund, American Friends of Jamaica, Main Event, and Red Stripe, present The Art Walk Festival.

This is a free public art festival that celebrates the UNESCO Creative City of Music, highlights Jamaican culture, creativity, and artisans and positions Kingston as the creative capital of the Caribbean.

Held in downtown Kingston (at Water Lane – 107 Harbour Street), attendees get to experience free performances and an artisan village. This Sunday, April 30th, international recording artist Agent Sasco will be performing. Starting time is 11am.
