Hopeton Lindo and Anthony Malvo Release Powerful New Single “Mental Health Awareness”

Mental health remains one of the most debilitating illnesses in modern society. It is a disease that transcends age, gender, and background and is often cloaked in secrecy. Recognizing its far-reaching impact, reggae artists Hopeton Lindo and Anthony Malvo have joined forces to raise awareness through their heartfelt new single, “Mental Health Awareness,” written and produced by Lindo for Irie Pen Records.

A prolific songwriter and producer, Lindo has penned or co-written hits for icons such as Maxi Priest, J.C. Lodge, Gregory Isaacs, Shabba Ranks and many others. He shared that the rising number of lives lost globally due to mental health struggles moved him to compose a song that sheds light on its dangers and the need for awareness. “I think mental health awareness is very crucial in saving lives, as many people suffer in silence,” said Lindo“Just listen to the lyrics, the message is in the music, and I hope it brings comfort and peace of mind to someone who needs it.”

Joining him on the single is longtime friend and collaborator Anthony Malvo, whose breakout hit “Come Back to Me” (with Tiger) made waves in 1987. Malvo said he was immediately drawn to the song’s powerful message and emotional depth.

“Mental Health Awareness” also features the talents of multi-instrumentalist Paul Gauntlett and harmony vocalist Shauna “ShaunaDazzle” Dixon, with engineering by Syl Gordon and mixing and mastering by the Heavybeat Crew.
