Sanchez & Third World Band Head To Toronto For Jamaica Day Fest

On Saturday, August 26th and Sunday, August 27th, Jamaicans in Ontario will celebrate the island’s music, culture, food and lifestyle at the 2023 Jamaica Day Food & Music Festival.

To ensure that all Jamaicans in attendance feel as close to home as possible, the organizers have invited beloved veteran singer Sanchez, and international reggae ensemble Third World to perform.

The Jamaica Day Food & Music Festival will be held at Brampton Sports Park, located at 7575 Kennedy Road (north of Derry Road and south of Steeles Avenue) in Brampton, Ontario.

Nigerian Afro gospel artist Limoblaze has just dropped a new single called My Matter. Shared via his own Limoblaze Music, in collaboration with Reach Records, the track also features Victor Thompson and Becca Folkes.

Ladies R&B Kickback Concert

The highly anticipated Ladies R&B Kickback Concert will take place on Saturday, September 23rd at the James Brown Arena – 601 7th Street – in Augusta, Georgia. Starting time is 8pm.

This show was purposefully put together with a female audience in mind. The lineup includes Jagged Edge, Dru Hill, Lloyd, Bobby V, Case, Shai and J. Holiday. Passes can be purchased via ticketmaster.

Beenie Man Confirmed For MP Chris Tufton’s Street Dance

This weekend – Saturday, August 19 – MP Chris Tufton and Councillor Caretaker Val Leslie will be having the Point Hill Summer Sizzle Street Dance at Point Hill Square in St. Catherine. This is an event that’s aimed at bringing the community together before the summer season comes to an end.

The organizers have invited the dancehall king Beenie Man to perform, as well as several selectors and sound-systems to keep the music going. Starting time is 7pm and refreshments will be on sale.

Steel Pulse Is On The Upcoming ‘Holo Holo Music Fest’ In Wheatland

The next Holo Holo Music Festival is Saturday, September 9th and Sunday, September 10th, and it will be held at the new location: the Toyota Amphitheatre (95692, 2677 Forty Mile Road) in Wheatland, California.

Among the performers is Steel Pulse, an international roots reggae band from the Handsworth area in Birmingham, England. They’re set is scheduled for Sunday.

Catch Stephanie Mills At The Novo Next Month

Singer-songwriter Stephanie Mills – who is most known for her hit songs Home, I Have Learned to Respect the Power of Love, If I Was Your Woman, etc. – will be doing a set at The Novo in Los Angeles, California, on Friday, September 8th.

Mills rose to stardom as “Dorothy” in the original seven-time Tony Award winning Broadway run of the musical, The Wiz, from 1974 to 1979. The song Home, which is from the show, later became a #1 U.S. R&B hit, and her signature song. Get tickets for the show here.
