Lulaworld 2024 Festival Line-Up Announced

The 18th annual Lulaworld Festival will be eleven days of mind-altering and soul-nourishing music, dance, poetry and film from across the globe and around the corner.

From May 30th to June 9th, Lulaworld 2024 will showcase the work of both emerging and established artists with musical roots in Iraq, Ukraine, Cuba, Pakistan, Peru, India, Nigeria, Palestine, Turkey, Brazil, Colombia, Haiti, and beyond.

Highlights include Lula debuts by the South Asian duo Nishat Khair and Shallum Xavier, Nigerian soul singer Dipo, and Mehmet Akyazi’s Turkish Canadian Orchestra. Salsa fans will be treated to Cuban vocalist Barbara Ruiz with Toronto’s own Yani Borrell.

Unga Barunga & Iba MaHr Release Visuals For “Bless Me”

In mid March, Unga Barunga – the prolific composer, producer, drummer, and singer – collaborated with Iba MaHr on a hip-hop fused reggae track called Bless Me.

Travis Greene, Phil Thompson & Todd Galberth Will Be In Jamaica For The Mindset Conference

Mindset is a Christian music conference created to educate music creatives (singers, songwriters, composers, publishers, musicians, etc.) on how to navigate the industry. It has been aptly described as a networking hub for anyone involved in the business of gospel music.

The location for this year’s staging is The Jamaica Pegasus Hotel, located at 81 Knutsford Boulevard in Kingston 5, St. Andrew, Jamaica. It will run from May 20-22. Celebrate 40 Years Of Music With Sherwin Gardner

Trinidadians and Tobagonians are being advised to gear up for what is expected to be an unforgettable night of celebration with Sherwin Gardner. The gospel-reggae artist will be commemorating 40 years of music ministry at Faith Assembly International (Five Rivers Junction, Arouca) in Trinidad and Tobago on June 1st.

Honoring Ken Boothe In Toronto

This Friday, May 10th, legendary Jamaican vocalist Kenneth George Boothe OD, publicly referred to as Ken Boothe, will be honored at the Jamaican Canadian Association in North York, Ontario, Canada.

The event, dubbed Tribute to the Legends, is being presented by Kings of Kings International, alongside Brat Pak Entertainment. The PK Riddims & Friends Concert Series Continues

Son of David will be staging another concert in the PK Riddims & Friends series, on Saturday, June 29th. It will be held at Merrell United Methodist Church – 3900 North State Road 7 – in Lauderdale Lakes, Florida, starting at 7 p.m.

Famed Jamaican comedian Oliver Samuels will host, and there will be performances by Lee Priest Johnson, Marcia Young, Kimola, Joan Flemmings, 2ND Chance, and of course PK Riddims Band. Adult tickets are US$50, while children under twelve will be asked to pay US$25. Click here to purchase passes.

Marcia Griffiths To Commemorate 60 Years With Major Concert In Miramar

The living legend Marcia Griffiths will be celebrating her 60th year in the music industry with a major concert on Mother’s Day, Sunday, May 12th. Starting at 2:00 p.m. local time, the family event will be staged at 5001 Flamingo Road, in Miramar, Florida.
