SOS Fest 2026 is set to bring the energy of Toronto Carnival Weekend to the Markham Fairgrounds from July 31 through August 2, offering three days of Caribbean music, culture, and entertainment.

Recognized as one of North America’s premier Caribbean festivals, the event will feature four signature experiences: Colours – J’Ouvert Night, Carnival Kingdom, Revivor – The Chutney Concert, and Legends – The Throwback Concert.

The festival’s lineup includes Bunji Garlin, Fay-Ann Lyons, Voice, Nailah Blackman, Skinny Fabulous, Mical Teja, Collie Buddz, Alison Hinds, Destra, Rupee, Farmer Nappy, Ravi B, Raymond Ramnarine, Terry Gajraj, and many more.

DMV Caribbean and Soul Food Festival 2026

Prezzy ElPrezidente Promotions is set to host the 2026 DMV Caribbean and Soul Food Festival on Sunday, August 16th, at Carroll Park, 1500 Washington Blvd, Baltimore, Maryland. The event will run from 1 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Headlining the day’s entertainment is reggae artist I Wayne, known for hits including “Can’t Satisfy Her,” “Living in Love,” and “Lava Ground.” The lineup also features live performances by Ras Slick and Lady Da Flame.

Organizers are encouraging families to attend together, with kids under 12 admitted free. The festival will offer a dedicated children’s playground area, face painting, and a jerk contest, alongside a full spread of Caribbean and soul food vendors.

Councilman Andre Wallace to Host Jamaica Independence Celebration in Mount Vernon

Councilman Andre Wallace, in association with Future FM Radio (98.9), will host the Jamaica Independence Celebration on Thursday, August 6, 2026, at 16 E Prospect Avenue in Mount Vernon, New York.

The free community event will run from 12 p.m. to 7 p.m. and will feature honorary guest Mr. Lexx, along with special guest artist Milton Simms and a set by the Rhythm Master Band. Music will be provided by DJ African and Nite Life Sound, with hosting duties shared by Barham and DJ Linkage. Attendees can also expect a family-friendly surprise with an appearance by a “Dancing Robot.”

Lady G Joins Susana Baca, Luedji Luna and Others for Free Afro-Latinas Concert in Central Park

New York’s SummerStage will host the Afro-Latinas Concert on July 26 in Central Park, bringing together a powerhouse lineup of Afro-Latina artists for a free show. Doors open at 5 PM.

The concert is presented as part of Festival Latinidades and the Afro-Latino Festival NYC 2026, in partnership with SummerStage’s 40th anniversary season and Capital One’s CityParks Foundation.

The lineup features Susana Baca, the celebrated Peruvian singer and former Minister of Culture who remains a leading voice in Afro-Peruvian music, alongside Luedji Luna featuring Liniker, bringing contemporary Afro-Brazilian sound and soul to the stage. Also performing are Mai-Elka Prado Gil featuring Lush Song Collective, and Lady G, a pioneering dancehall and reggae deejay from Jamaica, with DJ Agent DMZ closing out the night to keep the celebration going.

Mikey General Embarks on UK and European Tour This Summer

Internationally acclaimed reggae singer Mikey General is reconnecting with fans across the United Kingdom and Europe this summer as he embarks on a series of live performances in support of his recently released album “Medhane Alem,” as well as the singles that followed.

The tour will see the veteran Jamaican recording artist perform at several festivals and special events, one of which was the July 18 HI HO Music Festival in Capannori, Lucca, Italy. The free-admission event featured Mikey General performing alongside DJ Afghan and Joker Sound.

On July 26, Mikey General heads to the United Kingdom to headline the Two Step Forward 3rd Anniversary Dance, where he is scheduled to perform alongside fellow Jamaican artist Blackout JA. The appearance forms part of the celebrated UK roots reggae dance circuit and highlights the continued demand for Mikey General‘s uplifting, conscious music.

The tour continues on August 7 with an appearance at Reggae Collective in Reading, England. Hosted at the CultureMix Arts & Music Centre, the event celebrates the longstanding partnership between CultureMix Arts and Reality Shock while bringing together artists, selectors, and reggae enthusiasts for an evening dedicated to the culture and legacy of reggae music.

Mikey General will conclude this leg of the tour on August 22 at Roots in the Woods Festival in Pohorje, Slovenia, where he joins an international lineup of reggae artists at one of the region’s premier roots reggae festivals.
