Catch Deitrick Haddon In Detroit On Nov. 30

Gospel singer-songwriter Deitrick Haddon will be back home in Detroit for a concert on Saturday, November 30th. It will be at the Music Hall Center for the Performing Arts (350 Madison Street) and will feature an all-star lineup.

There will be performances by Major, Zaytoven, Ma$e, Charles Jenkins, Tasha P. Lockhart, William Murphy III, J. Moss, Tim Bowman Jr., and Mali Music. This event will run from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tickets can be purchased on Ticketmaster.

RIP Quincy Jones

Legendary music producer Quincy Jones passed over the weekend (on November 3rd) at his home in Los Angeles. The 91-year-old went peacefully, surrounded by his loved ones.

Jones came to prominence in the 1950s as a jazz arranger and conductor before producing pop hit records for Lesley Gore in the early 1960s. He would go on to make music with some of the biggest names in pop culture: Michael Jackson, Frank Sinatra, Ray Charles, Aretha Franklin, Donna Summer, James Ingram, and that is just to name a few.

Return Of The General Brigadier Jerry

Some of Jamaica’s biggest musical legends will gather in Clarendon, on Saturday, December 28th, 2024, to celebrate the return of General Brigadier Jerry.

Everton Blender, Phillip Fraser, U Brown, Major Mackerel, Principal Grundy, Hornsman, and of course Brigadier Jerry will represent the veterans, while Little Brigi and Danny Jackson will bring a more youthful energy to the show. In addition to the live performances, Super Tone Sound with selectors Sitladeen, Hammer Man, and Johnny Nash will be juggling; and the location is Pawsey Park on Main Street in Lionel Town.

Brigadier Jerry, also referred to as “Briggy” and “The General,” joined the Rastafarian organization Twelve Tribes of Israel in 1978 and was instrumental in spreading their message on the Jah Love Muzik sound system. By 1980, he was one of Jamaica’s most sought-after performers by sound systems across the island and a well-respected deejay among his peers.

Luciano Live In Negril

On Friday, December 6th, Trod-A-Long Fest will host inspirational reggae artist Luciano at the Roots Bamboo Beach Resort on Norman Manley Blvd. in Negril, Jamaica.

This is a live band show that will also feature performances by Anthony Able, Mojo Herb, Gregory Steel, Principal Grundy, 22 Pac, and Sista Mika from Belgium. All acts will be backed by the Hurricaine Band.

Jah Mason’s Japan Tour Kicks Off This Month

Jah Mason will be spending his birthday (November 17) in Japan this year. As of this writing, the Manchester native has three confirmed dates in the East Asian country.

On Saturday, November 16, he will perform at Club Cactus in Nogizaka, Tokyo; the following day, on his actual birthday, he is booked for the infamous Subway Bar; and on the 22nd, he will be at Chiba Starnite, which is located at Lion Building B1, 3-17-2 Fujimi, Chuo-ku in Chiba City.

Rub-A-Dub Fiesta

Popular radio personality turned producer Bobby Konders, and Singer J, the nephew of veteran singer-songwriter Bob Andy and a recording artist in his own right, will be heading to Bermuda for the Rub-A-Dub Fiesta this month.

Scheduled for Saturday, November 16 at the Pier 6 Complex’s Lower Level on Front Street, this event is gearing up to be the ultimate party in the British Island territory. Macka B On The Lineup Of The 2024 Reggae Dub Nation Festival

Veteran British-born Jamaican reggae artist Macka B is one of the artists confirmed for the upcoming Reggae Dub Nation Festival happening on Friday, November 8th and Saturday, November 9th at the John Lennon Cultural Center (41 Rue de Feytiat) in Limoges, France.

The reggae-dancehall toaster is promoting his recently released single “Still Look Good,” which was published on October 4th, as well as its official video shared approximately four weeks later.
