Reggae Singer Novel-T: A Journey of Resilience

Novel-T‘s ascent in the music industry began in the early 1990s, as she captivated audiences with her performances across various venues in Jamaica. Despite her early success, it wasn’t until 2011 that she shifted her focus to recording and producing her own music. This new chapter in her career was marked by collaborations with her husband and musical director, trumpeter Howard Perry Ricketts, who also serves as her co-producer.

Having released multiple singles, several of which have topped Reggae Charts in both the USA and the UK, Novel-T unveiled her second studio album last August. Titled “Survivor,” this LP comprises eleven tracks, including a notable collaboration with Peter G. Much like the aforementioned singles, the album also topped Album Charts in the USA (i.e., Foundation Radio Network Top 15 Albums) and Jamaica (i.e., Jamaica Top 10 Countdown Album Chart with Richie B).

“Survivor” showcases hit singles like “Tough Like a Diamond,” “Love Won’t Let Us Wait,” and “Keep It Moving,” alongside distinguished covers such as Aswad‘s “Two Makes One,”Des’ree‘s “You Gotta Be Bad,” and Bob Marley‘s “Satisfy My Soul.”

The production of “Survivor” was primarily handled by Howard Perry Ricketts and Novlette Fellows (aka Novel-T) under their label, P and N Publishing. Exceptions include tracks #3 (“I Love The Way”), #5 (“Crazy Love”), and #6 (“Love Won’t Let Us Wait”), which were all produced by Hopeton Lindo for Irie Pen Records, as well as track #10 (So I Can Love You), produced by Oliver Millwood for Melody Productions.

An eclectic blend of lovers-rock and inspirational reggae, “Survivor” delivers soothing, beautiful ballads that offer a relaxing auditory experience. The album is available for download on all major music platforms.
