Cudjoe Salute

The Windward / Leeward Maroons will present an event called ‘Cudjoe Salute’ from February 27th to March 1st, 2025. As the name implies, this affair was conceptualized to honor and celebrate the life and works of Captain Cudjoe, one of the greatest of the Maroon leaders. 

‘Cudjoe Salute’ will be held at the Maroon Town Community Center in St. James (Jamaica) and it will feature some of reggae’s most prominent Rastafarian artists. Confirmed are Sizzla, Ras Shiloh, Anthony B, Andrew Tosh, Bushman, Turbulence, Pressure Busspipe, I Wayne, Miriam Simone, Isha Bel, and that is just to name a few. 

Children are allowed free entrance, while adults will have to pay J$1,000.

A special thank you to One Love Marley Band for stepping up to support Omar Perry. You rose to the challenge, put in the preparation and delivered an unforgettable performance. Respect to the drummer—despite battling back pain you showed up and gave it your all. Massive respect!

To our hardworking volunteers—your dedication from logistics to backstage management ensured everything ran smoothly. You were the unsung heroes behind the scenes!

A huge shout-out to Henzel and Ella Rosa for the mouth-watering homemade catering and to Henrik for hosting such a wonderful program that set the perfect tone for the evening.

Macy Gray Announces 25th Anniversary Tour For “On How Life Is”

This spring, Macy Gray will kick off a 35-city international tour to celebrate the 25th anniversary of her debut studio album “On How Life Is.” The tour will commence on May 5th in Cheltenham, UK, and will run until June 20th.

“On How Life Is” was released on July 1, 1999, by Epic Records and Clean Slate. It’s Macy Gray‘s best-selling album to date, selling 3.4 million copies in the United States and seven million copies worldwide.

The Encounter 3

Multi-award winner and international recording artist Bashir Hogue will headline a concert called The Encounter 3 with several of his friends. This event will be presented under the theme “Can These Bones Live?” which is taken from Ezekiel 37:1-10.

This worship experience will take place on Saturday, March 22nd at Beloved St. John Evangelistic Church (4541 N Broad Street) in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Bashir will be joined by Earnest Pugh, Kim Cruse, Lonnie Hunter, and others. Click here to buy tickets.

Tarrus Riley Wants Us To “Love Again”

Tarrus Riley‘s latest addition to his impressive music catalog is a compelling tune titled “Love Again.” On this one, Mr. Singy Singy as he is affectionately called, shines a bright light on a real worldwide issue: the obvious lack of love.

Riley sings about the absence of deep affection in various types of relationships: siblings, parent and child, intimate partners, friendships, etc. The timely record was produced by Stephen “Di Genius” McGregor and was released via Di Genius Production on February 7th, 2025.

Shaggy Will Perform At Uptown Mondays On Feb. 17

The official birthday celebration for Fada Witty, the man behind the popular party series Uptown Mondays, will take place on February 17 at Uptown Mondays HQ in Savannah Plaza (35 Constant Spring Road) in Kingston, Jamaica.

As this is a special occasion, award-winning international artist Shaggy, aka Mr. Boombastic, will perform live! Selectors Harry Hype, World Boom, Milo, DJ Mental, DJ Ray, and the world immortal Stone Love Sound will also be in the building alongside upcoming artist Rally Banks and entertainer Boysie Roses.
