“The State of Gospel Industry” Town Hall & Networking Dinner

The Gospel Industry Coalition (GIC) will present “The State of Gospel Industry” Town Hall & Networking Dinner on Thursday, August 13, from 5:00 to 6:30 p.m. EST, held in conjunction with Stellar Awards Week.

Billed as “A Conversation on the Future of Gospel Music,” the event will bring together five prominent voices from the gospel music industry for a panel discussion addressing the current landscape and direction of the genre. Confirmed panelists include Asaph Ward, Canton Jones, Jekalyn Carr, Bryant Scott, and Earnest Pugh.

The town hall and networking dinner will take place at Mt. Moriah Baptist Church, located at 727 W. Trade Street, Charlotte, North Carolina. The event is free to attend, though registration is required and can be completed via gospelindustrycoalition.org.

The gathering is sponsored by the GIC Data & Research Committee and aims to foster dialogue among industry stakeholders, artists, and gospel music professionals during one of the genre’s most high-profile weeks of the year.

Musiq Soulchild Announces Multi-City Residency Tour at City Winery Venues

Musiq Soulchild will embark on an extensive multi-city residency tour at City Winery venues across the country, bringing his signature blend of neo-soul and R&B to fans in seven major cities through the end of the year.

The tour kicks off in New York City with performances on August 21, 22, and 24, featuring six total shows with two performances each night. From there, the tour heads to St. Louis for three dates—September 1, 3, and 4—also offering six shows with two sets per night.

Chicago audiences will get an extended run, with four performance dates on September 7, 8, 11, and 12, totaling eight shows across two nightly sets. The tour then takes a break before resuming in the fall with a stop in Atlanta, where Musiq Soulchild will perform November 20, 21, 24, and 25, again delivering eight shows with two performances each evening.

Nashville follows with three dates on November 28, 29, and December 1, rounding out six shows with two sets nightly. The tour continues in Philadelphia with four dates—December 17, 18, 21, and 22—offering eight total performances across two nightly shows.

The residency concludes in Pittsburgh, where Musiq Soulchild will close out the year with performances on December 27, 28, and 30, totaling six shows with two sets each night.
