Alison Hinds & Luciano For Bayfront Reggae & World Music Fest

The annual Bayfront Reggae & World Music Festival, which is all about spreading messages of love, hope, and equality, will be held at the Bayfront Festival Park – 5th Ave West and Railroad Street – in Duluth, Minnesota, on Saturday, July 15th.

As the name implies, the entertainment will be provided by artists and selectors proficient in reggae and world music, namely: Luciano, Alison Hinds, Konshens, Stonebwoy, Dred I Dread, Rootz Within and Sound of Fujun.

Miguel, Davido & Others For Juneteenth Celebration In L.A.

Live Nation Urban is partnering with Jesse Collins Entertainment on the production of the 2nd annual Juneteenth Celebration. Broadcasting live on CNN, the event will be held at The Greek Theatre – 2700 N. Vermont Avenue – in Los Angeles, California, on Monday, June 19th. Starting time is 8pm ET.

This year they are featuring a wide array of performers, namely: Miguel, Davido, Kirk Franklin, Jodeci, SWV, Coi Leray and more. The show’s musical directors are Questlove and Adam Blackstone. Get tickets here.

Davido’s New Album “Timeless” Drops On March 31st

Platinum-selling, multi-award-winning singer, songwriter, and producer Davido has announced that his 4th studio album – which is titled Timeless – will be released this Friday, March 31st via Columbia Records.

This will be Davido‘s first studio album since his critically acclaimed 2020 project, A Better Time.

Belizean Reggae Artist Nego Hights Is Going Harder! (@Realnegohights)

Belizean reggae artist Nego Hights, who is now residing in the United States, is determined to Go Harder this year! He made that decision after his near death experience with covid-19 in 2020. According to the singer: “I had to give up music for the better part of 2 years and at one point was told by the Doctors that I might not be able to perform any more. After surgery and breathing issues I decided that I will perform again and started telling my self I have to go harder than before to get back and surpass where I was in 2020 before I got sick.”

After making that decision, Hights wrote Go Harder. And with the help of producer Wadadah II, he arranged and mixed the single, which is now #2 on DJ Kat’s Top 5 (UK). The production was done at DOVE Muzik Studio in Evanston, Illinois (United States). Nego Hights and the team at DOVE Muzik report that Go Harder is making a lot of noise in parts of West Africa, the U.S. and the U.K. It is also considered a hit on social media. 

Hights responded to its rapid success by saying: “I would like for this song to bring out the best in the listeners, this song is all about you being your biggest fan, cheerleader, believer and supporter and I pray it will encourage and motivate the listeners to Go Harder for their goals no matter what.”

Koffee To Headline Afro Carib Fest In Miramar

The city of Miramar will present the 3rd annual Afro Carib Festival on Saturday, February 25th from 5 to 11pm at the Miramar Regional Park Amphitheater – 16801 Miramar Pkwy – in Florida. There will be performances by Koffee, Jacob Forever, J. Perry, Alexander Star and Yung Wylin.

According to the host, Commissioner Alexander P. Davis: “The Afro-Carib Festival brings together musicians, craftsmen, artists, creators, food vendors, and fans in celebration of the power of the Diaspora, who are descendants of native Africans. The Afro-Carib Festival not only honors our collective roots, but also celebrates and shines a spotlight on the beauty of our people and our global cultural impact.”

Burna Boy & WizKid Will Headline The 1st Afro Nation Festival In The U.S.

Afro Nation, arguably the world’s biggest afrobeat music festival, has announced their first U.S. show, set for May 27 and 28 at LoanDepot Park in Miami. They’ve also shared that African pop stars Burna Boy and WizKid will be the headliners.

They will be supported by Rema and Asake, dancehall legend Beenie Man, CKay, BNXN, Black Sherif, French rapper Franglish, and many more.
