Yishka Strikes Again With “Windy Day”

Yishka, the Florida based multi-talented music man, has just released an impressive twelve-track reggae instrumental album called Windy Day. Done in collaboration with veteran producer and music executive Danny Breakenridge (of Upstairs Music), Windy Day is already being tagged as one of the best reggae instrumental LPs shared in 2022.

Of the twelve tracks on the album six are covers – 1) The Melodians‘ Little Nut Tree, 2) Eric Clapton and Babyface‘s Change The World, 3) Boris Gardiner‘s The Beauty Of The Night, 4) David Ruffin‘s Walk Away From Love, 5) Jackie Opel‘s Eternal Love and 6) Bob Thiele and George David Weiss‘ Wonderful World. The remaining six, although brand new, are catchy and easy to sing along with.

Yishka, who is also a songwriter and an outstanding vocalist, has always said that his inspiration as a saxophonist comes from Dean Fraser, Gerald Albright, and Kirk Whalum: three sax legends in their respective genres. In a recent interview with the Jamaica Observer he explained his approach to Windy Day as follows: “To me, a good sax album has to do with the melodies. I try to make the melodies that I write interesting and different.”

Windy Day was officially published on November 11 via Upstairs Music. As such, it is now available on, and can be streamed and downloaded from all major music platforms.
