Demitsedek’s New EP “Masked Confusion” Drops On June 7th

Jamaica-born, Toronto-raised recording artist Demitsedek (formerly known as Tha Vor) will be releasing a new EP called Masked Confusion on Friday, June 7th, 2024. The reggae-fused hip-hop project will have a total of five tracks, each carefully crafted to tell a story that’s both personal and unique to the author.

It is worth noting that this project was inspired in part by experiences Demitsedek had while living in Tanzania (Africa) for over a year. See his summation below.

“During the time I had a few life changing experiences that caused me to do much soul searching and reflection. Looking into my Ethiopian roots I decided it was best to align my self with a more African perspective. So I change my name from Tha Vor to Demitsedek. During this time I also wrote a few books as well, one on healing and health, and one on His Imperial Majesty. I also spent many hours in the studio recording many songs which I would like to share and distribute.”

After entering New York’s Reggae Chart nineteen weeks ago and making it all the way to the #2 spot, Winston Irie‘s song, Orthodoxy, is unfortunately now descending. It sat at #2 behind YG Marley‘s Praise Jah in the Moonlight for a couple of weeks before it began going down.

Notwithstanding its position on the chart, Orthodoxy continues to do well on radio and is even featured on quite a few reggae mixtapes. What’s more, the song is literally trending in parts of Africa.
