The ‘Summer Block Party Tour’ Kicks Off This Friday

The highly anticipated Summer Block Party Tour, which features all four members of Jodeci (DeVanté Swing, Mr. Dalvin, K-Ci, and JoJo), SWV, and Dru Hill, will commence this Friday, July 28th at PNC Music Pavilion in Charlotte, North Carolina.

This is a six-week tour that will wrap up in early September in Concord, California. In addition to the aforementioned cities, it will also stop in Baltimore, Brooklyn, Detroit, Chicago, Atlanta etc. See full schedule below.

Wolf Trap On Schedule For ‘Masters of the Mic: Hip-Hop 50 Tour’

After previewing at the Essence Music Festival in New Orleans last month, the Masters of the Mic: Hip-Hop 50 Tour is now in full swing. It officially launched on July 20th in Cincinnati, Ohio, and will be stopping at Wolf Trap in Vienna, Virginia on Thursday, August 17th.

Masters of the Mic: Hip-Hop 50 Tour is the ultimate party bringing together the best and most respected MC’s of all time for one unforgettable night. Attendees will be treated to innovative wordsmith Big Daddy Kane, the original human beatbox Doug E. Fresh, conscious hip-hop pioneer KRS-One, legendary lyricist and MC Rakim, plus the storyteller Slick Rick. Special guests Roxanne Shante, hip-hop’s first female solo rap artist, and the great DJ Spinderella are also on the line-up.

Maxwell’s “The Night Tour” Will Stop In Detroit Next Weekend (@MAXWELL)

Maxwell‘s The Night Tour will be making a stop at The Aretha Franklin Amphitheatre in Detroit, Michigan on Friday, July 28th. He will be joined by Canadian singer and songwriter Tamia Marilyn Washington, more popularly known as Tamia.

Starting time is 8pm and tickets can be purchased from ticketmaster.

Maxi Priest, Kenny Lattimore For Long Beach Jazz Fest

Excitement is building in and around Long Beach, California as the 34th annual Long Beach Jazz Festival draws near. The three-day event will take place on August 11th, 12th and 13th, and will feature some of the best live performers in the business.

Confirmed are Maxi Priest, Erin Stevenson, Norman Brown, Kenny Lattimore, Mike Phillips, Kim Scott, Myron McKinley, Najee, Marcus Miller, Will Downing, and many more. Johnny Gill Confirmed For Toronto Jerk Fest- R&B Night

On Friday, August 11th, the four-day TD Toronto Jerk Fest will be all about rhythm and blues. They have dubbed that evening R&B Night and have invited pop star Johnny Gill to perform. Gill is the sixth and final member of the R&B/pop group New Edition and was also a part of the supergroup LSG, with Gerald Levert and Keith Sweat.

Close Off The Month Of July At The “Harlem Festival Of Culture”

The Harlem Festival of Culture, which is inspired by Questlove‘s 2021 critically acclaimed documentary, Summer of Soul, goes down on July 28th, 29th and 30th at Randall’s Island in New York.

Attendees will be treated to indoor and outdoor music concerts, influencer dinners, moderated discussions, and film screenings. There will be live performances by Estelle, Bell Biv Devoe, Nadine Sutherland, Doug E. Fresh, Serani, Cam’Ron, Wayne Wonder, and that is just to name a few.
