Gospel Explosion (Maryland, USA)

K&R presents Gospel Explosion, an event tailored to those who find themselves bound by life’s struggles, shackled by chains of addiction, trauma, and hopelessness. The objective is to create an environment where they can experience a powerful transformation.

The Gospel Explosion encounter will be held at High Point High School (3601 Powder Mill Road) in Beltsville, Maryland, on March 15, 2025. Ministers Darren Grant, Keisha Walters, and Kerry D Bless are all confirmed, as well as Jamaican gospel singer Rhoda Isabella. The entrance fee is USD $35.

Yellowman Returns To Moe’s Alley On March 20

King Yellowman will be back at the popular live music venue, Moe’s Alley (1535 Commercial Way) in Santa Cruz, California, on Thursday, March 20th. He will be joined by special guests Pacific Vibration and DJ Aye Que Linda.

This is a 21 and over event that’s scheduled to start at 7pm local time. Advance tickets are available for USD$30 on ticketweb.com. It will be USD$35 on the day of the show.

Marcia Griffiths Receives Reggae Gold Award

On Friday, February 28, 2025, the legendary queen of reggae, Marcia Griffiths, received a Reggae Gold Award for her extraordinary contribution to Jamaican music. It was presented to her by Prime Minister Andrew Michael Holness, ON PC. Griffiths was not the only awardee; a total of 17 individuals were recognized and celebrated.

The event was held at the National Indoor Sports Centre in Kingston. In addition to accepting her award, Griffiths also gave a stellar performance alongside the Reggae Symphony Orchestra.

R.I.P Angie Stone

On March 1st, 2025, the world lost a beautiful soul, and the music industry lost a real star. That is the date American singer, songwriter, actress, and record producer Angie Stone passed. She died in a car accident in the morning following a concert the previous night in Montgomery, Alabama.

Stone is most known for her solo album “Black Diamond,” released in 1999. It received gold certification by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA).

“All I See is Melanin” In Arrested Development’s New Video

Arrested Development has ended Black History Month 2025 with a powerful new song and video called “All I See is Melanin.” It debuted on the Black-owned social media platform Fanbase, which was founded by Isaac Hayes III.

Shaggy & Sting Collaborate On “Til A Mawnin”

On Thursday, February 27, Orville Richard Burrell, professionally known as Shaggy, surprised everyone with the release of a reggae collaboration done with none other than English musician, activist, and actor Sting.

The track, titled “Til A Mawnin,” accentuates the role of sound systems and dancehall parties in Jamaican music. The official video, which came out on the same day as the audio, was filmed at an actual street dance and shows both men performing in front of large speakers.

Steve Knight Returns!

Reggae recording artist Steve Knight, who rose to prominence in the late 1980s with hits like “Down in Jamaica,” “New Girl Fe Love,” etc., is back! The singer has just released a brand new twelve-track album on his Haul N Pull Up record label. It went live on streaming platforms on February 1st, 2025, and because it’s his first full-length studio LP in 25 years, it is capturing the attention of key music insiders.

The project is called “Steve Knight Returns.” According to Steve“Music is in my soul—it never leaves you. After years of life experiences, I felt it was time to share my journey through music again.” He goes on to say, “I’ve grown, both as a man and an artist. My sound is richer, my lyrics are deeper, and my perspective on life and love has matured.”

Musicians who worked on the record are O’Niel ‘Drummy’ Fuller (drums), Osbourne ‘Ifield’ Joseph (guitar & keys), and Danny ‘Axeman’ Thompson (bass). Tracks 1 and 2—“Marry You” and “Over and Over”—have already been released as singles with official music videos on Steve Knights‘ YouTube channel
