This year marks three decades of unstoppable greatness from one of reggae and dancehall’s most powerful voices, Sizzla Kalonji. To celebrate the milestone, his team launched a global series titled Rise to the Occasion, which kicked off in April 2025 with Kalonji Conversations in Miami.

The journey culminates with a historic finale in Kingston, Jamaica. Rise to the Occasion…30 Years of Sizzla Kalonji will be staged on Sunday, October 19th at Sabina Park, coinciding with Heroes Weekend. This tribute concert promises to honor Sizzla’s extraordinary impact on music and culture.

Since the release of Burning Up on September 5, 1995, Sizzla has delivered more than 80 albums, cementing his status as a leading voice within reggae-dancehall. From his roots in August Town to global recognition, his music has uplifted and connected generations, shaping a legacy that extends beyond sound into a worldwide movement.

Kingston Creative Artwalk Festival Returns with Music, Style, and Culture

Downtown Kingston will come alive on Sunday, September 28, when the Kingston Creative Artwalk Festival transforms Water Lane (107 Harbour Street) into a hub of art, music, and culture. Running from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., the event promises a vibrant mix of entertainment and experiences for the entire family.

Dancehall star Jahmiel will headline the live show, delivering a high-energy performance to cap off a day packed with activities. While admission is free, organizers are encouraging attendees to RSVP through Eventbrite.

Visitors can explore the Shopping Village and Beer Garden, sample flavors at food tastings, and enjoy the Avant-Garde Style Competition and runway show. King Yellowman’s September Show Dates

Since late July, dancehall King Yellowman has been on tour. He began with a couple of shows in São Paulo, Brazil, before making his way back to the United States. In September, he has three scheduled performances, all of which will take place in state of Colorado.

On Monday, September 1, he will perform at The Aggie Theatre in Fort Collins, followed by a set at The Black Sheep Club in Colorado Springs on September 5. The tour will conclude on Saturday, September 6, at the 23rd Annual Soul Rebel Festival in Denver.

Reggae legend Little John will be at the 15th Annual Y.I.P. Talent Awards & Reggae Showcase, happening on Friday, September 5th, 2025, at the Jamaican Canadian Centre at 995 Arrow Road in North York, Ontario.

Exco Levi, Charly Black & others confirmed for Level Up Cookout Day Rave in Stoney Creek, Ont.

On Sunday, August 31, 2025, the Armenian Community Centre of Hamilton, located at 191 Barton Street, in Stoney Creek, Ontario, will welcome fans for a vibrant day-to-night experience hosted by Clean Boss and Ziddy Boo. This year’s staging comes with a unique twist, as the event is branded the “Sports Wear Edition,” encouraging patrons to show off their style in athletic-inspired attire.

Headlining the event is Exco Levi, one of Canada’s most respected reggae artists. Joining him is Eyesus, another talented Canadian act who continues to make waves in the dancehall scene.
