Spanner Banner’s Birthday Celebration Set For Feb. 10th In NY

Joseph Bonner, more popular known as Spanner Banner, was born on the same day as legendary reggae artist Bob Marley (February 6th).

Spanner Banner‘s birthday celebration will be held on February 10th at Prestige Bar & Lounge – 40W Merrick Road – in Freeport, Long Island, New York. In addition to the guest of honor, there will also be appearances by Singer Irie, Bobby Lickshot, and Mad Dog; with host Sam Gotti and special guest Suzie Q.

This is a live band show that will also double as a pre-valentines party. Doors will open at 8pm, and there is a $20 admission fee.

Nathaniel Bassey’s “Hallelujah Live” Album Coming In February

Singer-songwriter and worship leader Nathaniel Bassey has hinted that his Hallelujah Live album, which was recorded in Lagos, Nigeria on November 20, 2022, will be released next month. Present at the taping were William McDowell, Sinach, Victoria Orenze, Ntokozo Mbamba, Mercy Chinwo, and others.

Although an exact date was not given for the release, Bassey made the announcement in a social media post at the end of December. He said: “Good News! Something special for 2023 and beyond. Over 2 hours of ANOINTED & GLORIOUS SOUNDS. By God’s grace, this is LOADED. This is taking your spiritual life up some notch! February 2023! Come quickly! “HALLELUJAH LIVE” Glory to God ! Spread the word!”

Richie Stephens & Sanchez’s “Double For My Troubles” Racks Up 2.4 Million Views In Three Weeks

On January 6th – singer, songwriter and producer – Richie Stephens released Double For My Troubles, his newest single done in collaboration with fellow artist Sanchez. The official video was uploaded to YouTube a day later – on the 6th – and has been racking up views ever since. As of this writing – done on January 28th – it has been viewed 2.4 million times, and it continues to climb.

Both men have been actively promoting the song and its visuals; appearing on popular TV shows, being featured in printed and digital medias, and most importantly, performing live on major concerts. Two weeks ago they were Winford Williams‘ guests Onstage, and they delivered a stellar performance at the recently held Rebel Salute Festival

Additionally, a week ago Double For My Troubles entered Jamaica’s Reggae Chart and is now in the #20 spot. It’s also #19 on New York’s Reggae Chart.

The song comes to us courtesy of Pot Of Gold Records (owned and operated by Richie Stephens) and Sanmonik Productions (owned and operated by Sanchez). It can be streamed and/or downloaded on Apple Music, Spotify, iTunes, Tidal and all other digital music platforms.

Enjoy “Timeless” Reggae Music On Feb. 11th In Priory, St. Ann

Three big reggae acts – Ken Boothe, Chalice and Boris Gardener – will deliver Timeless Reggae Music on Saturady, February 11th at Plantation Cove in Priory, St. Ann, Jamaica. They will be backed by Skool Band.

Tickets, which are going for $8,500 JMD, can be purchased in-person from Fesco Stations and Fontana Pharmacies; or online from caribtix-dot-com. Gates will open at 5pm and showtime is 7pm.

Inner Circle & JaRIA present “Gospel Spectacular” On Feb. 21

Inner Circle and Jamaica Reggae Industry Association (JaRIA), will, for the first time, present Reggae Month Miami. What this means is that throughout the entire month of February there will be lots of free live reggae events in and around Miami-Dade and Broward County.

As a part of Reggae Month Miami, they will also present a reggae-gospel concert dubbed Gospel Spectacular. It will be held at the Miramar Cultural Center – 2400 Civic Center Place – on Tuesday, February 21st. There will be performances by Carlene Davis, Glacia Robinson, Jabez, Omari, Mr. Gallimore and Prodigal Son. This event is absolutely free to everyone who RSVP.

Chronic Law Shares The Lyric Video For “Things Inside” (@Pandemicrecord1)

Trending dancehall artist Chronic Law has just shared the official lyric video for his single – Things Inside – featured on the brand new dancehall juggling, Things & Time Riddim. On the record, the hardcore deejay laments on his internal conflicts, as he tries to balance the success he has achieved as a recording artist, and the problems he is having because of it. He sings: “and mi say things inside weh a destroy all a mi vibe – things inside mek me paranoid all a the time.”

The Things & Time Riddim is an eight-track compilation, produced by emerging music label Pandemic Records. In addition to Chronic Law, it also has new music by Ikaya, Takeova, Jah Lama, Little Hero, Frass Khalifa, Xip Boss, and Pandemic‘s co-founder Sheldon Edwards

As the name implies, Pandemic Records was established during the epidemic caused by the covid-19 virus. It is owned and operated by brothers Sheldon and Leroy Edwards, both of whom are still celebrating the recently held #1 spot on Richie B’s Reggae Chart for Little Hero‘s World Right Now. That song is on the Logic Riddim, which was also produced by Pandemic Records.
