International R&B star Regina Belle will be live in Jamaica on Saturday, May 6th. She will join reggae legends Marcia Griffiths, Glen Washington and George Nooks at Hope Gardens – 224 Old Hold Road – in Kingston for a pre Mother’s Day show.
Presented by professional event coordinator Perry’s Production, the concert will start at 8pm, following cocktails which will be served between 6 and 7pm. Tickets are available via firstlineja-dot-com.
At the end of April – on the 28th – U.S. based reggae label, Big Feet Records, will release Give Thanks For Life; a rhythmic, bright, ska tune, performed by British-born Jamaican reggae artist Macka B. As a practicing Rastaman, Macka B‘s music is usually centered around political and spiritual messages, so this upcoming single will be a pleasant surprise to his massive fan base.
The tone and tenor of the song is most pleasing to Big Feet‘s executive producer and CEO Josh Harris, who insists that all songs on his label exude positivity. He holds the belief that music should make listeners happy, hopeful and optimistic, as opposed to angry and aggrieved. This has been his approach with all the other songs on Big Feet Records‘ extensive catalogue, which includes tracks by Ken Boothe, Junior Kelly, Pam Hall, Chezidek, and many more established reggae acts.

On Saturday, May 13, veteran reggae artist Ras Shiloh will join Luciano, Capleton, I-Wayne, Jah Hem and Qadamawe Nyne at Reggae Splash in The Bahamas.
The show will be held on the grounds of the popular Galaxy Lounge – 14 Oak Street – in Freeport. Hosted by Giggy Fyah and Steelie Chin, Reggae Splash will also feature Fyah City, Mad Bull, Ruff Roots, EJ The DJ and Mighty Warrior. Tickets can be purchased at the venue.
Music lovers in Lauderhill, Florida and the surrounding area are gearing up for the highly anticipated Jammin in the Park music festival at Central Broward Park & Broward County Stadium on Saturday, April 22nd.

Reggae collective Easy Star All-Stars – which is made up of Michael Goldwasser, Eric Smith, Lem Oppenheimer and Remy Gerstein – will be having their (Ziggy Stardub) album launch at Sony Hall in New York, on Thursday, April 20.
The record, which is a modern reggae-fueled reworking of the David Bowie classic, will not be officially released until the following day, the 21st. Bushman‘s upcoming birthday celebration – set for Sunday, April 23rd at 8 Rivaz Ultra Lounge in Ocho Rios – will, in addition to Natural Black and Turbulence, also feature musical legends Fantan Mojah and Louie Culture. The inclusion of the Rasta Got Soul singer and the Gangalee will no doubt add another layer of interest and excitement for those already anticipating the affair.
Furthermore, being a strong proponent and supporter of independent, emerging talents – especially those who purposely choose to create conscious music – Bushman made it a point to add several up-and-coming artists to the show.
