As they continue to enjoy all the positive feedback they’re getting on the Things & Time Riddim, Pandemic Records have already begun working on other projects. 

The brothers – Sheldon and Leroy Edwards – will be releasing two new rhythm-driven compilations in the coming weeks: Passion Fruit Riddim and Heaven Gate Riddim. And although no official release date has been announced for the latter, we do know that the Passion Fruit Riddim will drop on May 12th. Both EPs – which are reggae – will feature a mix of established and emerging artists.

A few weeks ago they shared two singles from the forthcoming Heaven Gate Riddim: Love I A Gi Dem, performed by Sizzla Kalonji; and Hero, sung by Turbulence. The songs were sent to selectors on Maria Jackson 27 DJ List, most of whom responded favorably, expressing anticipation for the full compilation. 

Despite the fact that a couple songs were made public, the team at Pandemic Records is still toiling incessantly to get additional talents on the riddim. That said, they are committed to publishing the EP shortly.

Chezidek‘s new album – Never Stop – was released on April 14th via Irie Ites Records and Evidence Music. It covers a wide range of topics such as social issues, romance, spirituality, etc.

With a total of eighteen (18) tracks, the project commemorates approximately two decades of collaboration between Chezidek and Europe-based Irie Ites. Click here or on the image above to stream and/or download Never Stop from your preferred music platforms.

Bushman‘s earth-strong celebration went off without an itch! The event took place this past Sunday at 8 Rivaz Ultra Lounge in Ocho Rios; and the people – especially young people – came out to support the reggae legend. There were performances by Turbulence, Natural Black, Fantan Mojah and Bushman; as well as surprise appearances by Natty King and several other artists. 

Following the show – on Monday – Bushman took to social media to thank his supporters. He posted: “Great party vibes in Ocho Rios for Bushman Earthstrong! Thanks to all who came out to 8 Rivaz Ultra Lounge!” The singer and his team are promising a more superior affair next year; one that will be tied into the annual 4/20 celebration (the observation of herb).

Reggae music, Jamaica’s unique gift to the world, will be celebrated at The Art Of Reggae Music Festival on Sunday, May 14, 2023. This is an annual family fun day that was created to honor the various styles of the genres.

Scheduled for the Arts Park at Young Circle in Hollywood, Florida, the show will feature Wayne Wonder, Romain Virgo, Leroy Sibbles, Glen Washington and L.U.S.T. Selectors Supa Twitch, Jazzy T, Champion Squad, Extatic Sound, Eccentrix and DJ Ishentadays are also on the lineup. Click here for tickets.

Trensettahs – a collective of musicians, selectors, visual artists, thinkers, business professionals, and tech pioneers – are working assiduously on the Pilgrimage Festival. This unique event started as a Rasta alliance back in 2015, and has since matured into an organized repatriation movement targeting Africans in the diaspora. Its objective is to aid in the journey of Africans from the west back to the east.

Trensettahs have created a soundtrack – called Black Sounds of Freedom – to support the mission. One of the lead singles from the project is Glory Is Coming, a roots tune performed by Sizzla Kalonji and Yatta Ken. The audio, which went live on streaming platforms in September, 2022, was preceded by the official video.

The visuals were captured by Reggae Tropics, and is a celebration of authentic African culture and lifestyle. It perfectly illustrates the song’s lyrical content, which is an advance commemoration of the return to the mother land.
