Illtown Sluggaz has announced the debut Slugga Music Concert Series, which kicks off on March 25th at The Wellmont Theater in Montclair, New Jersey.
The stacked event will have an incredible array of talent: the multi-platinum R&B trio NEXT, GRAMMY-nominated singer-songwriter and producer Amerie, acclaimed NYC rapper AZ, Illtown Sluggaz (aka Vin Rock and KayGee of Naughty By Nature), and the legendary DJ Funkmaster Flex. Get tickets here.
Rapper and actor Ice-T will be joined by fellow rap artist Chuck D, and Law & Order producer Dick Wolf, this Friday – February 17 – at his Walk of Fame ceremony. The MC is slated to receive his star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame for his outstanding work in both music and TV.
Rock The Bells is partnering with the CDC Foundation to produce Live To The Beat, a pop-up event that merges health and wellness with hip-hop culture. The objective is to create an experience that helps to provide simple and accessible ways for members of the black community to take care of their hearts and lower the risk for cardiovascular disease (CVD), all while having a great time!
Killer Mike will be hosting the event alongside Big Tigger, who will be on the turntables keeping everyone moving. Toya Johnson and Lauren Williams will be leading workout and hip-hop yoga classes. And the amazing Chef Za from Zaza’s Kitchen will be providing an onsite food demo with small bites!

One of the hardest working men in hip-hop – Talib Kweli – is at it again. He just released the lead single from Liberation 2, his upcoming LP with Madlib. The track, titled After These Messages, is a collaboration with emerging MC Amani, who is also Kweli‘s son.
