Hopeton Lindo’s New Album “This Song’s For You,” Out Now!

Hopeton Lindo‘s latest album, “This Song’s For You,” released on July 18, 2025, under his own Irie Pen Productions label and distributed by Zojak Worldwide, is now available on all streaming platforms. This is his sixth studio album, and it’s a heartfelt homage to the mellow reggae sounds that shaped his musical journey in Jamaica.

“This Song’s For You” comprises ten tracks that draw inspiration from the lovers-rock genre—a style renowned for its easy-listening appeal and championed by iconic artists such as Beres Hammond, Alton Ellis, John Holt, Dennis Brown, and Gregory IsaacsLindo expressed that this project had been long in the making; however, he prioritized completing various other endeavors for his Irie Pen team before embarking on this solo venture. “I just felt now is the time to drop my first solo lovers rock album, especially for the ladies who are a major part of my fan base,” he noted.

The album features standout tracks including hits like “Silent Consent,” “Favorite Girl,” and “Hot Number.” Additionally, it showcases the title track “This Song’s For You,” along with other compelling songs such as “Magnet” and “Good Woman.” A particularly noteworthy inclusion is Lindo‘s rendition of Dionne Warwick’s classic “A House Is Not A Home,” performed alongside Marcia Griffiths. Lindo remarked on this collaboration: “It was my idea to record this classic with Marcia. I’ve done songs with her before and it’s always an honor to sing with the Queen; this is our first cover song and it’s extra special.” He elaborated on their interpretation of Warwick‘s timeless piece: “The original drew my attention and I’m glad we got the opportunity to put our touch on this reggae version.”

Lindo took an active role in producing six of the ten tracks on the album. Willie Lindo from HeavyBeat Records contributed significantly as well, producing three tracks: “Silent Consent,” “Hot Number,” and “You Ask For It,” while two songs (“Magnet” & “A House Is Not A Home”) were co-produced by Syl Gordon of CellBlock Records. The collaborative effort extends to musicianship as well; contributions come from notable figures such as guitarist Willie Lindo himself, drum and bass legends Sly Dunbar and Robbie Shakespeare, bassist Delroy “Wormbass” Nevin, along with multi-instrumentalists KashieF Lindo, Paul Gauntlett, Paul “Computer Paul” Henton, Kirk Bennett, Donald “Danny Bassie” Dennis, Paul Crossdale, and John “JonFX” Crawford.

“This Song’s For You” exemplifies Hopeton Lindo‘s dedication to honoring the sounds that have influenced him throughout his life. The album promises both new listeners and loyal fans an engaging exploration into contemporary lovers-rock-reggae.
