Get Liberated With Talib Kweli & Madlib At The Novo On May 19

Now that their new record – Liberation 2 – is out and getting great reviews, Talib Kweli and Madlib are engaged in a rigorous promotional campaign. Next month, on Friday, May 19, they will be at The Novo – 800 W Olympic Blvd- in Los Angeles, California, for a show that’s schedule to start at 8pm.

Kweli and Madlib describe Liberation 2 as a global call for unity through time and space. The album features African artists Cassper Nyovest and Seun Kuti; as well as collaborations with Q-Tip, Wildchild, Roc Marciano, Westside Gunn and the late Mac Miller. Talib also has songs with his children Amani and Diani. Liberation 2 is only available on Luminary.

Jagged Edge & Dru Hill Preps For Mother’s Day Weekend Concert (@Official_JE @DruHill4Real)

On Friday, May 12th, two of R&B’s biggest boy-bands, Jagged Edge and Dru Hill, will be live in concert at the Arena Theatre – 7326 South West Freeway – in Houston, Texas. They will have as their special guests another incredible male ensemble, Shai, as well as singer, songwriter, and record producer Case.

This pre-Mother’s Day show will begin at 8:30pm local time, and passes are available via ticketmaster.

Agent Sasco & Machel Montano For Caribbean Airlines Pop Up Launch (@AgentSasco @machelmontano)

Caribbean Airlines in collaboration with Machel Montano, the Voice and Agent Sasco recently released the soca hit Welcome Home, at a massive family event at the famous Adam Smith Square, Ariapita Avenue, Port-of-Spain Trinidad. The song mirrors the theme of Caribbean Airlines’ 2023 campaign and captures the vibrant spirit of the Caribbean and all the key elements that make the region home.

Now they’re inviting Jamaicans to come out to their Welcome Home Pop Launch at 128 Old Hope Road in Kingston, Jamaica on Friday, April 14th from 3 to 6pm EST. It will feature Machel Montano, Agent Sasco and guest deejays Travis World and DJ Smoke. RSVP here.

Yasiin Bey Heading Back To Spain For 2 Shows

One of the best rappers of all time, Yasiin Bey, will return to Spain for two exclusive shows for the first time in 10 years. He will perform at La Riviera in Madrid on May 10th, and at Razzmatazz in Barcelona on May 11th.

Mos Def needs no introduction. Exploding into the public consciousness as part of Black Star (with Talib Kweli) in 1998, it was Mos‘ debut – Black On Both Sides – a year later that took the New York rapper to astronomical heights and universal stardom. The LP continues to be regarded as one of the greatest albums in the genre’s history. After another three great albums (New Danger, True Magic and The Ecstatic), Yasiin Bey came back in 2022 with the highly anticipated 24-year Black Star reunion project: Fear Of Time.

Capleton will be live in concert this Monday (April 10th) at Blue Crush’s 10th Anniversary. He will be joined by Swazz and FFurious, with host Sophia Taylor, at D’Shore Beach in Port Maria, St. Mary.

The event – which will also feature DJ Blacks, Rich Squad, Mixmaster Ovadose and Kronic Supreme – is being powered by Dynamite Sound. Admission is $2,000 JMD.
