Emerging gospel artist Oshane Mais has just shared his first official music video. It’s for Rock Medley, and it features one of the most powerful voices in Jamaica’s gospel music, Petra Kaye.

Jon Batiste’s New Album “World Music Radio” Is Out Now

Multi-award-winning singer-songwriter, composer and bandleader, Jon Batiste, is back with a new twenty-one track LP called World Music Radio. Released on August 18th via Verve Label Group – a division of UMG Recordings Inc. – the album is a conglomerate of genres.

As diverse as the sounds are on this record, so too are the artists that are featured. There are collaborations with JID, Native Soul, Kenny G, Lil Wayne, Leigh-Anne, Heroes, Michael Batiste, Jon Bellion, Fireboy DML, Rita Payés, NewJeans and Camilo.

Wormbass Shares Visuals For His Single “Liberation”

Veteran bass player and recording artist Wormbass has just released the official video for his song Liberation. The clip, which is being described as both striking and stunning, was directed by the Jamaica based film crew, Inkaz Studioz. Under the direction of Wormbass, they created visuals that perfectly captures the essence of the song, and is indeed liberating to watch (pun intended).

Liberation is one of six tracks featured on the Survive Riddim published in late March by Blakkwuman22 Music. The EP also features reggae legend Mikey General, vocalist Earl Smith Jr. – who is the son of famed guitarist Earl ‘Chinna’ Smith – and lyricist, songwriter and producer Karamanti, who is also the CEO and owner of Blakkwuman22 Music.

Feel The “Wrath” Of Samory I, Kabaka Pyramid & Capleton

One of the most unique roots vocalist out of Jamaica, Samory I, has joined forces with two militant musical soldiers – Kabaka Pyramid and Capleton – for his new single, Wrath.

Released on August 18th via Easy Star Records, under license from Overstand Entertainment, the track seems to be centered around the inexplicable anger of our youths, and the unfortunate ways they’re dealing with it.

JC Lodge & Eric Donaldson Will Headline The Scarlet Dreams Festival In Brazil

The city of Belém in Brazil is buzzing in anticipation of the Scarlet Dreams Festival, scheduled for Saturday, September 16th at Reggae no Parque (Tv. WE12, 1000, Belém, PA).

The excitement is being fueled in part by the announcement of the event’s headlining acts: legendary Jamaican reggae singer-songwriter Eric Donaldson, and British-Jamaican reggae vocalist JC Lodge.

The international artists will be joined by DJs Dhodhu Roots, Alex Roots, Vitor Pedra and singer Adrianinho Yemanjah.

Celebrate “The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill” At Mystic Lake On Sept. 8th

Lauryn Hill will give a special 25th anniversary performance of her first solo album – The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill, released in 1998 – at the Mystic Amphitheater in Prior Lake, Minnesota, on Friday, September 8th.

Lauryn Hill’s soulful voice propelled her to the top of the hip-hop and R&B charts at the end of the 20th century. Her sound, often categorized as neo-soul, bridges hip-hop and mainstream popular music. Fueled by the success of the single Doo Wop (That Thing), the aforementioned album went multi-Platinum in several countries. Hill was nominated for 10 Grammy Awards and won five, including Best New Artist and Album of the Year.

Burning Spear To Perform In Santa Cruz For The 1st Time In 20 Years

One of the most influential and long-standing roots reggae artists out of Jamaica – Burning Spear – will be back in Santa Cruz next month for the first time in approximately twenty years.
