Music Review: Bomma Ft. Davii “Stronger”

It is clear that Canada-based reggae-dancehall artist Bomma has been through a lot. This conclusion was reached after listening to his latest single, Stronger, a rap-fused reggae tune done with his musical brother and friend Davii.

On the record, Bomma uses a timeless proverbial phrase, namely: “The pain the pressure makes me stronger,” to set the theme of the song. He then goes on to make several declarations, all of which seems to be rooted in his faith in both himself as a man, and the God that he serves.

Stronger is what Jamaicans commonly refer to as a ‘reality tune.’ This is the kind of record you play when you’re either going through, or have survived real life challenges. Davii, who added only a couple of lines, stayed in the same lane as Bomma. He kept it spiritual and hopeful.

Released on April 19, 2024, Stronger was produced by Simon Malik aka Dubai, who initially reached out to Bomma asking him to voice on the rhythm. Bomma then invited Davii to join him. Stronger can be streamed and/or downloaded from all music platforms.
