Aarhus Reggae Festival Returns On Sept. 28th, 2024

The vibrant city of Aarhus in Denmark, is gearing up for the highly anticipated return of the Aarhus Reggae Festival on September 28th, 2024. This annual event has become a staple on the city’s cultural calendar, attracting reggae enthusiasts from near and far. Organized by Henzel K. Clarke and his team, the festival promises a day filled with groovy rhythms and positive vibes.

The Aarhus Reggae Festival started in 2015, and since then, it has grown to become one of the largest reggae events in Aarhus. This year, as it is the first staging since the pandemic, it will be held at Volume Village (Thomas Koppels Gade 201, 8000 Aarhus C).

Past editions have seen performances by renowned reggae and dancehall artists such as Leroy Gibbon, Courtney Melody, Queen Omega, Macka B, Karamanti, Perfect Giddimani, Omar Perry, Natty King, Bunny General, King Kong, Super Black and so much more. The 2024 lineup will raise the bar even higher, with a mix of international acts and local talents.

Marcia Griffiths Confirmed For The 2024 TD International Jerk Food & Music Festival!

This year’s TD International Jerk Food & Music Festival will be held at Centennial Park in Toronto, Ontario, Canada from August 9th to 11th. This is not just a music festival – it’s also a celebration of Caribbean culture, cuisine, and community.

However, because the musical entertainment is one of the main attractions, the organizers have announced that the queen of reggae, Marcia Griffiths, has been confirmed and will perform on the 10th and 11th. In addition to Griffiths the event will feature Masicka on the 9th, and Farmer Nappy and Ding Dong on the 10th and 11th. Click here for additional information.

The 2024 Tampa Bay International Carnival

The 2024 Tampa Bay International Carnival is just around the corner, and it promises to be an unforgettable weekend of pulsating rhythms, dazzling costumes, and mouthwatering island cuisine.

On Saturday, July 13th, and Sunday, July 14th, the Carnival will take over Albert Whitted Park (480 Bayshore Drive Southeast) in beautiful St. Petersburg, Florida. The festivities will run from 10:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. both days, giving plenty of time to soak up the vibrant atmosphere.

This year’s event is hosted by the Trinidad and Tobago Association of Central Florida, Inc. Headlining the festival are Kes The Band, Desperados Steel Orchestra, reggae legends Inner Circle, Don Chezina, Notch, and many more.

When the live acts take a break, the following DJs will fill in: OsoCity, David Marquez, DJ Spice, DJ Kirky C, DJ D-Nero, and DJ Lips Int’l. These talented spinners will keep the Carnival vibes going strong throughout the weekend.

Rep Your Flag With Teflon Young King & Naturalvybz Issential

On Friday, June 14th, the electrifying energy of Teflon Young King and Naturalvybz Issential will be in Rochester, New York. The men will headline the “Rep Your Flag” reggae-dancehall party at Blue Skye Events (Skye Lounge) which is located at 1425 Mount Read Boulevard.

DJ Fiyah Kidd and DJ Ezee are also on the program. The party starts at 10pm local time, and tickets, which are going for US$29, can be purchased from Eventbrite.

Big Vybz with Christopher Martin in Junction, St. Elizabeth On June 9th

The incredibly talented Christopher Martin will perform at Deerrs Bar and Chill Restaurant in Junction, St. Elizabeth, on Sunday, June 9th, at an event called Big Vybz. With hits like “Cheaters Prayer,” “I’m a Big Deal,” “Let Her Go,” “Is It Love,” and “Dreams of Brighter Days,” Christopher Martin is a staple on the reggae and dancehall scene.

But Martin isn’t the only reason to show up at Big Vybz. Captain Collin Hines will be on the decks, juggling tracks to keep the energy high all night long. And with Pretty Boy Floyd hosting, the vibe is sure to be right. General admission is just J$5000, and VIP tickets are J$8,500 at the door.
