Dancehall Artist Keywee Is Ready!

Emerging dancehall artist Keywee, who is based in Portmore, St. Catherine, is ready to take his career to the next level. The deejay inked a production and management deal with Seven Gate Record—a Canadian music label—in 2019. Since then, he has released several singles and music videos with the imprint and has even been invited to perform in Canada on two separate occasions.

Keywee‘s music is raw, hardcore dancehall with lyrics that are, for the most part, focused on the ladies. His biggest songs to date are “Melanin Pop” (August 2020), “Clean Like Skeleton” (December 2020), and “Nuh Use to Gyal” (January 2021). All three were produced and published by Seven Gate Record, and visuals were done for “Clean Like Skeleton” and “Nuh Use to Gyal.”

After years of putting in the work and paying his dues, Keywee is eager to have his music heard by a wider audience. The crew at Seven Gate is in agreement, and to that end, they have kicked off 2025 by resharing some of Keywee‘s previous releases while simultaneously working on new tracks that will be shared this year.

New Music Video From The “Natural Vibes Riddim”

In the first quarter of 2024, Reggae Vibes Music, the Jamaican record label with offices in New York, Atlanta, and Kingston, shared the “Natural Vibes Riddim.” Initially, the album only featured Busy Signal, Jah Cure, Turbulence, Pressure Busspipe, Powerman, Lutan Fyah, Kurtiouss, Jay Shephard, Rufftop Rock I, and Ginjah. However, subsequent to the release, they added Kenyan singer Cathy Matete, Chilean reggae sing-jay Balaguero, and Jamaican recording artists Dreama and Menny More.

The “Natural Vibes Riddim” has been aptly described as a compilation of hits! Every song has, and continues to enjoy, steady rotation on reggae platforms worldwide. A couple of the tracks have even gotten visuals, which has contributed to the rhythm’s consistent presence in the media. The latest music video from the “Natural Vibes Riddim” is for Jay Shephard‘s “Higher.” Shot and edited by Brice Media Films Entertainment, the clip premiered on Reggaeville’s YouTube channel on February 18, 2025.

Jay Shephard is an established reggae-dancehall artist from Nassau, Bahamas. Although he has an extensive catalogue, both he and his longtime supporters agree that “Higher” is special because it was recorded after he survived a gunshot to his face. Also, according to Shephard, prior to being shot, he was not able to sing. So in an ironic twist, something that was meant to end his life (being shot) has actually added to his life by giving him a skill he did not have before.

All songs on the “Natural Vibes Riddim” are available on streaming platforms, and the music videos for Jah Cure‘s “How Can I Explain,”Kurtiouss‘ “This Love For You,” and now Jay Shephard‘s “Higher” can be viewed on YouTube.
