The American Music Awards (AMAs) are set to commemorate half a century of legendary moments, unforgettable performances, and rich pop culture history with a two-hour broadcast on Sunday, October 6, 2024. It will air concurrently on both coasts at 8:00-10:00 p.m. ET and 5:00-7:00 p.m. PT on the CBS Television Network, with streaming on Paramount+.

The program will feature themed highlights from AMAs’ expansive show archives, each culminating with an original performance or artist interview. Segments will look back on the evolution of specific artists and genres at the AMAs, as well as award and performance milestones. The performers for the American Music Awards 50th Anniversary Special will include Chaka Khan, Gladys Knight, Jennifer Hudson, and Mariah Carey, and that is just to name a few.

Chris Walker and Regina Belle will take the Ziegenbock Music Stage on Wednesday, October 9th, during the Heart O’ Texas Fair & Rodeo to deliver sets that will feature a mix of soul, rhythm-and-blues, and jazz.

Two R&B giants, Tamia and Joe, will be doing a short stint in several southern states in the U.S. this fall. The first show will be on Friday, October 4th at the Colonial Life Arena in Columbia. It will be followed by nine more concerts, with the last being in Houston on November 16. On Tuesday, September 10th, 2024, the music industry lost a gifted soul as it was reported that Frankie Beverly, founder of the legendary funk and soul band Maze, passed away. He was only 77 years young. The sad news was shared on social media by the Beverly Family. See the full post below.
