Canadian Music Week has announced that Kardinal Offishall will receive the Social Justice Award at the CMW Music Summit on June 10, 2023 at the Westin Harbour Castle. Iconic Canadian media personality Master T will host a keynote interview with Kardinal Offishall, followed by the presentation of this second annual award. The CMW Conference, Canada’s largest and longest-running industry conference, will take place June 8-10, 2023.

After years of earning global respect as one of Canada’s most energetic and innovative emcees, Kardinal Offishall has been a staple in the global music scene. He has collaborated on hit records with Lady Gaga and Rihanna, and made history with his monster classic “Dangerous” which scorched to the top of the Billboard Hot 100 charts, making him the first rapper from Canada to do so in history.

Kardinal has added TV star to his repertoire, serving as a judge on Canada’s Got Talent alongside Howie Mandel, Lilly Singh and Trish Stratus. He has also continued to be a cultural and musical ambassador for a new wave of Canadian superstars and has had the pleasure of working with everyone from the likes of Drake, K’naan, Daniel Caesar, Boi 1da, and Glenn Lewis.

This Memorial Day Weekend, R&B star Fantasia will be doing back-to-back shows on the west coast alongside her special guest, Joe. The pair will perform on Friday, May 26th at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles, and Saturday, May 27th at the Toyota Arena in Ontario, California.

On Sunday, May 28th, they will be joined by Robin Thicke, Vivian Green, KEM, Stokley, and Kurtis Blow on the Stone Soul Concert at the Concord Pavilion in Concord, California.

The 30th Annual Capital Jazz Fest Is Set For June 2nd – 4th

Capital Jazz Fest, one of the premier black music events in the U.S., is now in its 30th year. The 2023 staging is all set for June 2nd through the 4th at the Merriweather Post Pavilion in Columbia, Maryland. It will feature over 30 live acts in three days!

Patrons will be treated to contemporary jazz, R&B, and soul music from both established and emerging performers. Miguel, Davido & Others For Juneteenth Celebration In L.A.

Live Nation Urban is partnering with Jesse Collins Entertainment on the production of the 2nd annual Juneteenth Celebration. Broadcasting live on CNN, the event will be held at The Greek Theatre – 2700 N. Vermont Avenue – in Los Angeles, California, on Monday, June 19th. Starting time is 8pm ET.

Live Nation Urban and Mass Appeal are partnering for the first-ever Park Jams, an event created to celebrate both Juneteenth and Hip-Hop 50 simultaneously. It all goes down at SummerStage in Central Park (New York) from 4pm to 10pm on June 19, 2023.

There will be an A-list lineup of top-tier hip-hop personalities and pioneers, namely: DJ Premier, Grandmaster Flash, Kid Capri, DJ Spinking, Statik Selektah, DJ Diamond Kuts, and Nyla Symone.
