MC Lyte’s ‘1 Of 1’ Tour Starts In Mid February

MC Lyte, one of the pioneers of female rap, will be going on tour in mid-February to support her latest album, “1 of 1.” The seventeen-track project was shared in September 2024 via My Block Inc., and it features collaborations with a slew of artists: JoiStaRR, Stevie Wonder, Common, Warryn Campbell, Lil Mama, and others.

The tour will start on February 13 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and as of this writing, will wrap up on March 16 in Lansing, Michigan. For the complete schedule, visit mclytenow.com.

Nigerian singer, songwriter, actress, and activist Yemi Alade continues to share tracks from her 2024 album “Rebel Queen.” The latest is “Happy Day,” track #7, for which she has just published an official video.

As the name implies, “Happy Day” is a positive, up-tempo afrobeat record that encourages listeners to remain optimistic regardless of what is happening. Talib Kweli Shares Visuals For “Sing Into The Sky”

“Sing Into The Sky,” track #12 on Talib Kweli‘s latest album, “The Confidence of Knowing,” done in collaboration with J. Rawls, now has some visuals. The rapper uploaded the clip, which was shot by Chino Chase, to his YouTube channel on January 27.

Craig David Returns With “SOS”

British pop star Craig David returns in 2025 with a new song and video titled “SOS.” Using the same themes that were instrumental to his rise to fame in the late 1990s and early 2000s, David is once again singing about love and relationship.

Super Bowl Soulful Celebration 2025

The live taping for the 26th annual Super Bowl Soulful Celebration will take place on Wednesday, February 5, 2025, at the Mahalia Jackson Theater in New Orleans, Louisiana, starting at 7:30 pm.

Bill Bellamy and Rocsi Diaz will host, with performances by Yolanda Adams, Lucky Daye, the Isley Brothers, Tori Kelly, Muni Long, Jonathan McReynolds, Big Freedia, Master P, Trombone Shorty, and the NFL Players Choir.

Additionally, Michael Strahan will be honored with the Lifetime of Inspiration Award, Cameron Jordan with the Community Award, and Jared Verse with the Rising Star Award. Click here for tickets.

Montreux Jazz Festival Miami 2025

After a successful inaugural event, the Montreux Jazz Festival Miami will be back in full force on February 28th, March 1st, and March 2nd, 2025. This year, five-time Grammy Award-winning and Academy Award-winning singer, songwriter, and composer Jon Batiste is responsible for curating the entire programming.

That said, the lineup includes Jon Batiste, Chaka Khan, Janelle Monáe, WILLOW, Cimafunk, Gonzalo Rubalcaba, Paquito D’Rivera, Alfredo Rodriguez, Pedrito Martinez, Ibrahim Maalouf, Robe L Ninho, Yissy Garcia, and Wampi. It will be staged at The Hangar in Coconut Grove, Miami, Florida.
