The 21st staging of Poetry In Motion – a music, dance, comedy, story telling, fashion, and poetry affair – will be held on Sunday, February 25th, 2024, at the Manchester Golf Club, which is located on Brumalia Road in Mandeville. Starting time is 6:00 PM.

This year, Yasus has invited Stephen Wise, Mik, Viv Morris Brown, Horace Andy, Dr. Ann-Marie Wilmot, Lemon, Dr. Charmaine Gooden Monteith, Steppa, Dr. Paul Gyles, Prof. Clinton Hutton, Elaine M. Campbell, Prim Lewis, Mrs. Georgia Allen, and Sammoya Banton to join him.

Jah Movement Band will be hosting their 8th Annual Reggae Music Block Party on Friday, February 23rd at The Gator Club – 1490 Main Street – in Sarasota, Florida. This event also doubles as the OsFest, which is dedicated to honoring Oswald ‘Ham’ Caines.

Caines, a popular reggae music legend, died in 2017 in a multi-vehicle crash on the William Howard Frankland Bridge connecting St. Petersburg to Tampa.

Among the performers confirmed for the upcoming Block Party is Everton Blender. He will be joined by Juliette Mills, Ri-Trus Yutes, Paul Anthony, Nostaljah, Youth Movement, and of course Jah Movement. Tickets and additional information are available on Eventbrite.

Saint Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands’ reggae ambassador Pressure Busspipe has just blessed the industry with a musical gem. He and IzaYoung Boy Production have shared the visuals of their latest single, Destiny, which bring to light the song’s core message of self-love.

After taking a hiatus, which was due in part to the pandemic, Jam Link International – the company that’s responsible for Aarhus’ annual Bob Marley Celebration – is now ready to resume the show on a more consistent basis. Having said that, the 2024 staging will be presented at Volume Village (located at Thomas Koppels Gade 201, 8000 Aarhus C) on Saturday, February 24, with a running time of 21:30 – 03:30.

As of this writing, the organizers have confirmed several of the region’s top-tier reggae selectors: DJ Willy, Denali Sound & Crew, as well as veteran guest Booyaka Sound from Odense, who is now celebrating their 30th anniversary. They’re also promising to announce the full and complete lineup at the end of January.  

Jam Link Intl.‘s Bob Marley Celebration was first presented in 2015. Both local – Europe based – and international (Jamaica and other Caribbean nationals) reggae performers have graced its stage. Furthermore, this event has become one of Aarhus’ most anticipated reggae concerts scheduled in the first quarter, and that is regardless of the lineup.
