Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame Induction Ceremony To Stream Live

For the first time in Rock & Roll Hall of Fame history, the Induction Ceremony – scheduled for Friday, November 3rd at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York – will be streamed live on Disney+.

Inductees Sheryl Crow, Missy Elliott, Chaka Khan, and Willie Nelson will perform, as well as special guests Brandi Carlile, Dave Matthews, 1994 Inductee Elton John, H.E.R., Chris Stapleton, St. Vincent, New Edition, and many more.

Kendrick Lamar Will Be At Austin City Limits Music Festival

The 2023 Austin City Limits Music Festival is only days away! It will be presented over two weekends – October 6th to 8th, and again on October 13th through to the 15th – at Zilker Park in Austin, Texas.

As the event draws near, the organizers are sharing the full lineup. Among the performers is Kendrick Lamar, the hip-hop artist most recognized for his musical versatility, artistic reinventions, complex songwriting, and signature cadences. He will perform on Friday, October 6th, and again on Friday, October 13.

Recording Artist & Actor Idris Elba Releases 3-Track EP

English actor, DJ, and recording artist Idris Elba has just added three new songs to his catalogue. On September 21st, he shared an EP called The Phantom Files (From Cyberpunk 2077), which is to mark the worldwide release of the Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty video game, in which his likeness and image are used as one of the lead characters.

The EP, classified as hip-hop (although one of the songs is clearly deep-house) comes to us courtesy of Elba‘s own imprint, 7Wallace Music. All three tracks are included in the aforementioned video game’s official soundtrack.

BET Hip-Hop Awards 2023

The 2023 BET Hip-Hop Awards will be held on Tuesday, October 3rd, at the Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre in Atlanta, Georgia. The show will then air on the BET Network the following week, on October 10th, at 9pm ET.

Grammy Award-nominated recording artist, actor, author, entrepreneur, and media personality Fat Joe, who is also the co-executive producer, will once again host this year’s staging. Ms. Lauryn Hill Performs At Global Citizen Fest Tomorrow

The Global Citizen Festival will be back at New York City’s Central Park tomorrow, September 23. Again, the organizers will call on world and corporate leaders to make a sincere commitment to end extreme poverty. Joining them in this fight are musical giants Ms. Lauryn Hill, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Jung Kook, Anitta, Conan Gray, D-Nice, Sofia Carson, and 3RACHA.

While 60,000 people will be attending the event in-person, you can watch from home, as the Global Citizen Festival will broadcast live around the world. It will be aired on the following platforms: Amazon Music, Amazon Prime Video, Apple Music, Facebook, Global Citizen (website), Instagram, TikTok, Veeps, and YouTube.

The Legendary Roots Crew will be doing a handful of shows this month. They’ll be playing at the Spectrum Center in Charlotte, North Carolina on the weekend – Saturday, September 9th – and at the PNC Arena in Raleigh the following day. They’re also booked for the Telluride Jazz Festival in Telluride, Colorado on September 16th.

The Roots is considered one of the greatest hip-hop ensemble in the history of the genre. The band was formed in 1987 by Tariq “Black Thought” Trotter and Ahmir “Questlove” Thompson in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

Common, Lupe Fiasco & Others Will Join Robert Glasper At Wolf Trap For Hip-Hop 50 Celebration

Five-time Grammy-winning pianist, composer, producer, and founding member of the Kennedy Center’s Hip-Hop Culture Council, Robert Glasper, will be celebrating hip-hop’s 50th anniversary at Wolf Trap’s Filene Center – 1551 Trap Road – in Vienna, Virginia, on Saturday, September 9th.
