NY: Join Pharoahe Monch & Friends For The 25th Anniversary Of “Internal Affairs” On July 3rd

Next month, the Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts (New York) will vibrate with the music of three hip-hop legends: M.O.P., Pharoahe Monch, and Talib Kweli. These MCs will take the stage on Wednesday, July 3rd, to celebrate the 25th anniversary of Pharoahe Monch‘s seminal album “Internal Affairs”.

Released in 1999, “Internal Affairs” was Pharoahe Monch‘s solo debut following his work with Organized Konfusion. The album cemented his reputation as a lyrical genius, with intricate rhyme schemes and vivid storytelling that set him apart from his peers.

Juneteenth Parade & Festival

This Saturday, June 8th, San Francisco’s second annual Juneteenth Parade & Festival will honor Black freedom, heritage, and achievement.

There will be creative floats, live music, and many special guests at the Parade, which will start at 11:00am at Market and Spear Streets (near the Ferry Building) and continue 13 blocks west down Market Street, with an end point at Fulton Plaza (near Civic Center, behind City Hall). Here the Festival – a celebration with incredible musical performances, food and drink, games, and so much more – will be held.

Rapsody, Goapele, Larry June, D’Wayne Wiggins (from Tony! Toni! Tone!), The Glide Choir, Dustin Sharpe, Ronski, Stunnaman02, and the Feline Finesse Dance Group, are just some of the confirmed performers.

Hip-Hop 4 Peace

Collaborating Partners: M Power Change, Make the Road NY, New York Communities for Change, CUFFH, Jay Boogie Love, and BLOQUE, are supporting The Action Lab and The Center For Popular Democracy as they present a night of hip-hop, calling for a permanent ceasefire and an end to civilian suffering in Palestine, DR Congo, and Sudan.

It will take place on June 2nd at Roulette (509 Atlantic Avenue) in Brooklyn, New York. The lineup includes Ana Tijoux, Smif-N-Wessun, M1 and Umi from Dead Prez, Emilio Rojas, Waheeb Nasan, and more. Confirmed host is Suheir Hammad.
