Jermaine Edwards, George Nooks & Others To Support Jodian Pantry’s ‘Gospel Tenacity 2020’

On Wednesday, January 1st, gospel recording artist Jodian Pantry will be hosting ‘Gospel Tenacity 2020’ at the Old Police Station in May Pen, Clarendon. She will be supported by a slew of her musical colleagues, namely: Kevin Heath, Jermaine Edwards, Rhoda Isabella, Sherlon (from Digicel Rising Stars), George Nooks, Tasha Masha and Gassy Bless.

The show will run from 6:00 PM to midnight and there is a $1,500 JMD entrance fee at the gate.

Jay Williams, CEO of The Jay Williams Show, Indie One Radio WJAY Atlanta and TAP Radio, wants to honor contributors to the international urban Gospel community. That being said, he is putting together an award show for Hip-Hop, Caribbean and Reggae Gospel artists, as well as those doing Spoken Word and Poetry.

The event will be held in Atlanta, Georgia on May 23rd, 2020. His goal is not just to honor Gospel talents but to also bridge the gap among the sub-genres, while welcoming and introducing emerging artists to the U.S. Williams is making it clear that he wants to bring artists from the UK, Caribbean and other parts of the world to America so that they can all celebrate Christ together.

On Saturday, October 26th, dancehall gospel artist Minister Blessed will be celebrating his birthday and simultaneously launching his 4th album at the NHT Sports Club (4 Park Blvd) in Kingston, Jamaica. Several emerging and established gospel artists will be on hand to support him, namely: Ryan Mark, Jodian Pantry, Garfield Reid, Dessi-Ann Yetman, Godartise Musiq and Kemar ‘Ovacomma’ Leslie. MC’s are Nadine A Blair and Basillia Barnaby-Cuff, while DJ Supa Robinson will provide additional music via the turn-tables.

Tickets, which are going for $2,000 JMD at the gate will also get patrons a copy of Minister Blessed‘s new CD. Advance tickets for $1,500 JMD are available at the following locations: Embees Pharmacy, Shop 1D Hagley Park Plaza (Half Way Tree); LA Vega Pharmacy, Shop 9 St Jago Shopping Centre (Spanish Town) and Portmore Mall Pharmacy.

Tye Tribbett Confirmed To Headline Virginia State University’s Homecoming Concert


From Saturday, October 12th, through Saturday, October 18th, Virginia State University will be having a homecoming tour for their football team, the Trojans. The week long celebration will feature a Comedy Show, a Talent Concert and a Gospel Extravaganza.

The Gospel Extravaganza will be held on Sunday, October 13th at the VSU Multi-Purpose Center (20809 2nd Ave) in Petersburg, Virginia. The organizers have confirmed gospel artist Tye Tribbett as this year’s headliner.

Glory Music Limited, The Best Dressed Chicken and RJR Gleaner Communications Group present ‘Jamaica Fun In The Son Community Engagement’ on Saturday, September 27th and Sunday, September 28th.

On Saturday it will be held at Folly Oval in Port Antonio, Portland from 10 AM to 10 PM; while on Sunday it will be at the Mandeville Primary School (6 Caledonia Road) in Mandeville from 4 to 10 PM. This event is absolutely free to the public!

Attendees will be treated to live performances from Carlene Davis, Alaine, Rondell Positive, Marq Johnson, Kevin Downswell and others. Ity Ellis will be the master of ceremony.

Earlier in the year Troyton Music released the Healing Project, a seven-track gospel compilation that features some of Jamaica’s most respected gospel artists. Among them is Kevin Downswell, who many say did arguably one of the most powerful gospel songs for 2019.

The track, which is titled Lights, has been getting heavy rotation all over the world. The official video was shared on Kevin’s channel approximately a week ago and it shows a snippet of the impact this record is having on listeners.
