Boston JerkFest is bringing three days of culture, food, and vibes to the city this summer with its Feme Tropikal event, running from Friday, July 10 through Sunday, July 12, at Ohiri Soccer Field within the Harvard Athletic Complex.

Headlining the festivities are three powerhouse women of Caribbean music: reggae legend Sister Nancy, soca queen Alison Hinds, and rising star Nailah Blackman. Additionally, attendees can look forward to an impressive supporting lineup including DJs Nomadik, Slick Vick, Diamond & Warlock, and Safiya, alongside Tempo Steel Band, Jahriffe & Jah-N-I Roots Movement, Amaziya the Great, spoken word performances, and more.

Performed on the Abu Dhabi Riddim and produced by Track Starr, the hard-hitting dancehall track serves as a declaration of principles rooted in Rastafarian beliefs. Throughout the song, Turbulence emphasizes that Rastafarians do not support homosexuality and underscores the importance of remaining steadfast in that position. He also denounces pedophilia and rape, making it clear that such acts have no place within the Rastafarian community.

Sister Nancy, widely celebrated as the Queen of Dancehall, will headline Still We Rise, a Juneteenth Afterparty Benefit Concert taking place on Friday, June 26. The event, held at The Chattaway Restaurant, Concert Venue & Bar in St. Petersburg, Florida, opens its doors at 6:00 PM with the show kicking off at 7:00 PM. DJ Kirky C of Poison Dart will provide music throughout the evening.

More than a night of live entertainment, the concert carries a meaningful purpose: all proceeds will benefit the James B. Sanderlin Neighborhood Family Center — which is celebrating its 35th anniversary — through the Chattaway Legacy Fund.
