Okayplayer and VP Records Kick Off Miami Art Week

Okayplayer and VP Records are hosting a high-energy Opening Party for Miami Art Week on December 3rd. The event will take place from 6 PM to 12 AM at The Sagamore, Miami Beach.

The musical lineup is headlined by a special showcase from reggae-dancehall legend Shaggy and guests, alongside a DJ set from Walshy Fire of Major Lazer. The night will also feature a special appearance by Rayvon. Beyond the music, the celebration includes artistic elements such as a live model body painting and a live painting exhibition.

Perfect Giddimani Is Heading to The Gambia

Jamaican Reggae-Dancehall artist Perfect Giddimani will be on tour in The Gambia this December.

Presented by Firehouse Sound Int., the schedule kicks off on Wednesday, December 3rd, at Lama Lama Bakau (Visa D200). The following night, Thursday, December 4th, the artist will perform at Sport Bar Kololi (Visa D250). The first week concludes with a performance on Friday, December 5th, at Dominos Beach Bar (Visa D250 B4 1AM).

The tour continues into the second week with performances on the weekend. On Saturday, December 6th, Perfect Giddimani will take the stage at Karmalu Garden Gunjur (Visa D200), followed by a show on Sunday, December 7th, at Agies Alibaba Garden (Visa D300). Mid-week, on Wednesday, December 10th, the action moves to Motherland Senegambia (Visa D250 B4 1AM), and the final scheduled performance is set for Friday, December 12th, at Brufut Sunsplash (Visa D200).

The entire event is being hosted by Firehouse Entertainment, and will feature special guest appearances by local talents Youtha Dread and Maha D Hammer.

Retroville Street Dance Promises to Energize Richmond, St. Mary

On Sunday, November 30, 2025, the Retroville Street Dance will be staged in the vibrant community of Richmond in St. Mary, Jamaica. Designed as a community-focused event, the celebration aims to uplift local spirits following the departure of Melissa and the negative energy it brought.

There will be a live performance by dancehall entertainer Professor Nuts, who is expected to deliver nothing less than lyrical mastery. The event will also feature musical selections by Vibes Choice Sound.

Admission to the Retroville Street Dance is free, with organizers encouraging attendees to “come build back a vibe” as part of the broader Community Rejuvenation Movement. Security will be provided in partnership with the Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF) to ensure a safe and enjoyable environment for all. The event is supported by Edge Chem Paints.

Major Music Festival to Hit St. Thomas on New Year’s Eve

On Wednesday, December 31, 2025, Jah Bouks and Short Ghad will present the Angola Festival at the Angola Restaurant in Old Pera, St. Thomas, Jamaica.

The lineup features major figures such as Capleton, Jamal, Stalk Ashley, Shane O, Eddy G Bomba, and Moyann. They will be joined by a host of other popular artists, including Nation Boss, Jah Bouks and Short Ghad themselves, Quick Cook, Macka Diamond, Predator, Seventeen, Bushman, Bascom X, and Money Pallet.

Admission to the event is tiered, with a General Admission price of $3,500 at the gate. For patrons seeking an elevated experience, VIP access is available for $7,000.

Reggae Stars Unite in Stockholm for Stand With Jamaica Benefit Concert

On December 26, Kollektivet Livet — the popular music venue in Stockholm — will host “Stand With Jamaica”, a live benefit concert dedicated to raising funds for Jamaica’s hurricane relief efforts.

On the main stage, three renowned Jamaican artists will be featured: Nesbeth, Eek-A-Mouse, and Singing Sweet. They will be joined by Swedish dancehall and reggae artists Million Stylez and Danjah. Together, they will deliver a vibrant mix of reggae, dancehall, and lovers rock.

Meanwhile, the second floor will transform into a “Soundsystem Arena,” powered by Topaz Sound and Capital Sound, alongside DJs Binnie Smalls and Ashman. This setup is designed to bring the authentic bass-heavy energy of Caribbean dancehalls to Sweden, with lots of dubplates and skillful jugglings.

More than just a night of music, “Stand With Jamaica” is a deeply meaningful fundraiser. Every penny raised from ticket sales, food, drinks, and merchandise will go toward relief efforts in Jamaica — helping to rebuild homes, support communities, and assist families affected by recent hurricane damage.
