The city of Boston is preparing to host the 25th annual Boston Gospel Fest, presented by Mayor Michelle Wu. This milestone celebration will take place at the Leader Bank Pavilion, one of the city’s premier outdoor amphitheaters located at 290 Northern Avenue. The festival is scheduled for Sunday, August 31, running from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., with doors opening an hour earlier at 4 p.m.

Boston Gospel Fest has long been recognized as one of New England’s most anticipated celebrations of faith and music, bringing together gospel enthusiasts, families, and communities for an evening of uplifting performances. Headlining the 2025 edition is the legendary John P. Kee, a gospel icon whose soulful voice and dynamic ministry have inspired audiences worldwide for decades.

Mikey General, Stevie Face & others confirmed for Nyahbinghi Centre Fundraiser on Aug. 30

Skillfully Family will stage a major fundraising concert at Bob Marley Beach (9 Miles, Bull Bay, St. Andrew) on Saturday, August 30, 2025. The event is dedicated to supporting The Sugar Loaf Peak Nyahbinghi Centre, a cultural and spiritual hub.

Headlining the lineup are well-loved reggae voices Stevie Face and Mikey General, whose powerful performances are expected to set the tone for an inspiring evening. They will be joined by an eclectic mix of talents including Jah Breadz, Twinkle Brain, Empress Thunderous, Mackeehan, Hennessy Fyah, Steady Ranks, Miro Idiallo, Trapaneur, and many others. The event’s host, 1Wyleman, is set to keep the energy high while guiding the audience through a night of roots, culture, and artistry.

Alongside the live showcase, the musical atmosphere will be curated by Kemetic Roots with DJ Fya Locks, supported by guest selector DJ Steamaz. Dead Prez Announce 25th Anniversary European Tour for Let’s Get Free

This fall, revolutionary hip-hop duo Dead Prez will hit the road to celebrate the 25th anniversary of their landmark debut album, “Let’s Get Free.” Originally released on February 8, 2000, through Loud Records, the LP remains one of hip-hop’s most politically charged and influential projects.

Mostly self-produced, with contributions from Lord Jamar of Brand Nubian, Hedrush, and a young Kanye West, “Let’s Get Free” combined hard-hitting beats with sharp critiques of systemic oppression, police brutality, and racial inequality. Its tracks—like “Hip-Hop” and “I’m a African”—cemented Dead Prez as uncompromising voices of resistance within the culture.

Now, 25 years later, M-1 and stic are bringing that same energy back to the stage across Europe. The tour kicks off in Barcelona on November 16 and runs through December 1, concluding in Dublin. See schedule below.

Rebel Salute – Florida Edition

Rebel Salute, one of Jamaica’s premier cultural and musical festivals, is heading to Florida for a special edition on Sunday, September 28. The event will take place at the Miramar Regional Park in Miramar, running from 2 p.m. to 10 p.m.

This Florida staging promises to capture the spirit of the original Rebel Salute with an impressive lineup of artists. Reggae fans in New York are gearing up for one of the biggest events of the summer as CJ Milan presents Reggae Fest Massive on Saturday, August 30, at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York. Located at 620 Atlantic Avenue, the iconic arena will open its doors at 7 p.m., with the show starting promptly at 8 p.m.
