Mesha Steele Collaborates With Dollarman On “Lots Of Love”

Belizeans vocalist Mesha Steele, who now resides in New York City, has a collaboration with Dollarman that is starting to get a lot of attention. The song, titled Lots Of Love, was first shared a couple years ago as one of the tracks on Dollarman‘s Time album. However, despite it being out for a while, many DJs are only now learning about the dancehall fused Caribbean pop tune. This is due in part to Dollarman and his team’s decision to re-release the LP.

Mesha Steele is an award-winning singer, songwriter, and band leader who was born into a family of musicians, so her rise to stardom should not surprise anyone familiar with her story. While still residing in Belize, Mesha, along with her two older sisters, formed a group known as the M Girlz. After her siblings decided to settle down, Mesha went solo and continued to make her mark as a singer and performer. In her teenage years, she was considered one of Belize’s top female artists, and as she matured, she went on to become the lead vocalist for The Messengers, one of the most popular bands to come out of Belize.

Her relocation to the United States only resulted in more shows, music, and opportunities. Hence the connection with Dollarman and the producers of Lots Of Love, KR Moore, and Ike Boogie. Lots Of Love is a back-and-forth between both artists. Mesha flirts with Dollarman by telling him how much love she has for him, and he in turn responds enthusiastically. Perfect Giddimani Will Perform In East St. Louis On August 10th

Yes I Computers will be hosting Perfect Giddimani at an event dubbed Island Reggae Party, on Saturday, August 10th. This is an informal social gathering that will be held at 3668 McCasland Avenue in Cahokia Heights (East St. Louis), Illinois.

In addition to Giddimani, local artists Diallo St. Clair, Rikkathon Produkshuns, and Non-Stop Reggae will also do sets. Gates will open at 6:00 p.m., parking is free, and attendees are being encouraged to bring their lawn chairs. Entrance fee is US$25.00.

The Original Big People Party In NYC

Marvelous Entertainment, Hits and Jams Ent., and GeeDee Promotions will bring one of Guyana’s most favorable events, the Big People Party, to New York City. They are assuring potential patrons that the NYC affair will have the same vibes that the Guyana event is known for.

It is scheduled for Labor Day weekend, Saturday, August 31st, at Industry City (220 36th Street) in Brooklyn. In addition to the musical jugglings of Big Papa, Rheney Spice, Bevon, and Ronnie, there will also be live performances by Glen Washington, Supa Ray, Super Terry, Murphy, and Busta. Demonstrating exceptional abilities from a tender age, Candy began singing and articulating with remarkable clarity at just 10 months old. Her journey culminated in the attainment of a degree in Jazz and Popular Music Studies from the esteemed Edna Manley College.

Candy‘s accolades speak volumes about her unparalleled musical prowess and perseverance. With an impressive collection of 65 medals, including an astounding 30 gold, 5 silver, and 30 trophies, garnered from her stunning performances as both a JCDC Festival Competition performer and composer, Candy has consistently defied expectations. Notably, she clinched Second Place in the JCDC’s Gospel Song competition in 2009, and in 2021, she emerged as a finalist in the prestigious Festival Song competition.

Beyond her remarkable achievements in music, Candy is a beacon of inspiration as an educator. Sharing her expertise as a teacher at Wolmer’s Girls and various primary schools, she imparts not only musical knowledge but also invaluable life lessons to her students.

In recognition of her profound impact on the world of music and education, on April 27, 2024, Kimiela was bestowed with an honorary doctoral degree in sacred music from the renowned One We International Theological Seminary (OWITS). Her life’s mantra, “It’s not the Candy thatlives, but the Christ that lives in Candy,” encapsulates her strong faith and resilience, serving as a guiding light for all who aspire to overcome obstacles and realize their dreams.

Former Member Of The Original Wailers Beverley Kelso Remakes “Simmer Down” With Richie Stephens

The megahit song Simmer Down, which is widely associated with reggae legend Bob Marley, was actually done by The Wailers, The Skatalites, and producer Clement “Coxsone” Dodd in 1963. Shortly after it was released, it began to get heavy rotation, and by February 1964, it had become the number one song in Jamaica.

At the time, The Wailers was made up of Bob Marley, Bunny Wailer, Peter Tosh, Junior Braithwaite, Cherry Smith, and Beverley Kelso. Sadly, all the forenamed have passed away, with the exception of Beverley Kelso, who is still actively recording and releasing music.

As the only surviving member from the original Wailers, Kelso recently joined forces with fellow vocalist Richie Stephens, and producer Claude Sinclair (more popularly known as Big Stone) to remake the aforementioned hit, Simmer Down. This new version was published in mid May of this year, and its official video followed approximately two months later, in early July.
