R&B Rewind: Millennial Edition Brings 2000s Stars to Raleigh

Raleigh’s Martin Marietta Center for the Performing Arts will host “R&B Rewind: Millennial Edition” on Friday, September 25th, bringing together Bobby V, Lloyd, Pleasure P, Sammie, and Mystikal, all performing live under one roof.

The evening, presented by The Soul Series Inc., will be hosted by MTV’s Darren Brand. DJ Double J will handle the music throughout the show, keeping the energy high between sets and setting the tone for the retro-inspired celebration.

Belize Civic Center to Host Gospel Fest, Featuring Samuel Medas and Blessed Messenger

Gospel Fest Belize, produced by A Heavenlies Production, will take place on Saturday, October 10th at 5 PM at the Belize Civic Center. The event brings together a lineup of gospel artists and groups under the theme “Reaching People Through Gospel Music.”

Headlining the evening are featured performers Samuel Medas and Blessed Messenger, alongside The Heavenlies and D Revelation (The Return). Additional performers include Dunamis, 501 Genesis, Blind Sight, Frederick Gordon, Reality Youth, and Live to Worship.

Tickets are priced at $15 for adults, with a discounted rate of $10 per person for groups of 25 or more, and $5 for high schoolers. Admission is free for kids.

Philadelphia Church to Host America 250 Concert

The Church of Christian Compassion, located at 6121 Cedar Avenue in Philadelphia, will host the “America 250 Unity Concert: The Sound of Gospel” on Saturday, October 17, at 6:00 p.m. Presented by Jermaine Dolly and Friends in partnership with Yesha Ministries, Inc., the event is part of a wave of local programming marking the 250th anniversary of the United States’ founding, a milestone Philadelphia has embraced throughout 2026 as the birthplace of American independence.

The concert will feature a lineup of gospel artists including Jermaine Dolly, Kierra Sheard, Zacardi Cortez, Vincent Bohanan & SOV, Leandria Johnson, and Josh Copeland, among other performers to be announced. Dolly, a Philadelphia-born gospel singer known for his energetic vocal style and stage presence, has previously headlined faith-based community events in the city, including gospel concerts tied to civic engagement efforts.

Shabba Ranks Releases Inspirational New Single “Champion”

Dancehall legend Shabba Ranks has returned with his latest single, “Champion,” an inspirational dancehall track released on September 4, 2026. The new recording finds the veteran deejay delivering an uplifting message built around themes of determination, self-belief and personal achievement, with Shabba reminding listeners that everyone has the potential to be their best.

Produced by Bulby York, “Champion” was released through Bulby York Music and Emperor Ranks Entertainment, with distribution by ONErpm.

“Champion” has been well received since its release, with fans welcoming new music from one of dancehall’s most recognizable voices. The positive response has also renewed calls for Shabba Ranks to release new material on a more consistent basis.

“137 Street Riddim” Medley Music Video Out Now!

The “137 Street Riddim” medley music video was uploaded to Richie Spice’s official YouTube channel on September 4, 2026.

Directed by Shervel Thesheep, the video features Richie Spice, Turbulence, Lolaa Smiles, Jah Melody, and Chezidek, with each artist performing his or her respective song in a different location. The production uses seamless transitions, mixing each clip into the next in a style reminiscent of a selector blending records during a reggae session.

The medley features Richie Spice’s “Lately,” Turbulence’s “Wilderness,” Lolaa Smiles’ “Real Love,” Jah Melody’s “Need You To Know,” and Chezidek’s “Dem Can’t Stop It.Lutan Fyah’s “She Don’t Want To Leave” is also part of the 137 Street Riddim lineup, although he does not appear in the video. The riddim is a Brownz Records production, with individual songs released separately rather than as a single compilation project.

The new medley video gives the individual productions a collective visual identity while highlighting the versatility of the artists featured on the 137 Street Riddim.

Sister Carol to Bring Roots Reggae to Gilroy

Reggae legend Sister Carol will be in Gilroy, California, on Friday, September 11, for a special live performance at Promised Land Brewery.

Backed by The High Life Players, Sister Carol will headline an evening of roots, dub and reggae in the brewery’s Beer Garden. The event will also feature special guest DJ Manik, who will be spinning a selection of roots and dub throughout the night.

Doors open at 5:00 p.m., with the show running from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. This is a ticketed event, with Early Bird tickets priced at $20, General Admission at $25, and tickets at the door available for $30.
