Richie Stephens and Lenky Reignite the Diwali Riddim with “Wet Sugar”

Dancehall luminary Richie Stephens joins forces once again with legendary producer Steven ‘Lenky’ Marsden for a compelling new single and music video titled “Wet Sugar.” The release reunites two influential figures whose past collaborations helped shape the genre’s global trajectory. On “Wet Sugar,” Stephens delivers a captivating performance. The track leans into mature, sensual themes, with Stephens narrating intimate, risqué moments, crafted with his female audience in mind.

Marsden revisits and reimagines the iconic Diwali Riddim—the same groundbreaking rhythm he introduced in 2002 that fueled international hits such as Get Busy by Sean Paul and No Letting Go by Wayne Wonder. For “Wet Sugar,” Marsden infuses the riddim with contemporary elements, breathing new life into a sound that remains one of dancehall’s most recognizable exports. Stephens, for his part, matches this revitalized energy seamlessly.

Released on April 24, 2026, “Wet Sugar”—alongside its accompanying visual—aims to reconnect Stephens with his longtime fan base while introducing a new generation of listeners to the enduring allure of the Diwali sound. The collaboration also revisits a longstanding musical partnership that dates back to 1996, when Stephens and Marsden teamed up for the hit “Maniac,” featuring Bounty Killer.

“Wet Sugar” is available on all streaming platforms and the official video can be viewed on Richie StephensYouTube channel.
