Frolic 2025

Frolic is the event to attend on Carnival Friday, February 28th, 2025! It will be staged at Fete Yard, Queen’s Hall, in St Ann’s, Port of Spain, Trinidad & Tobago. This is a food-inclusive fête with a unique flair. There will be performances by Mical Teja, Lyrikal, and Farmer Nappy. Early bird tickets are available online and offline for TTD$450 or USD$66.

New Music From Machel Montano & Skinny Fabulous “Fallen Fetters”

On Friday, December 20th, the king of soca, Machel Montano, and Vincentian musician, singer, and songwriter Skinny Fabulous released a collaborative single called “Fallen Fetters.” The high-energy record is a tribute to the deceased friends (links) of soca-party lovers (fetters).

Soca Star Nadia Batson Shares Visuals For “Bartender”

Trinidadian singer, songwriter, producer, and model Nadia Batson has just shared the official visual for Bartender, her song on the newly released Flashing Lights Riddim. The two-track project, published on November 28th, also features Skinny Fabulous.

‘Rejuvenate’ With Machel Montano In Atlanta On Dec. 14

The king of soca, Machel Montano, will perform at the Gateway Center Arena (2330 Convention Center Concourse) in College Park (Atlanta), Georgia, on Saturday, December 14. This event will also feature a set by dancehall artist Alkaline, who is the other headlining act. 

Rejuvenate, the name of the concert, will start at 8:00 p.m. (local time), and tickets, which range from US$85.00 to US$125.00, are available on Ticketmaster.

Farmer Nappy Is “Thankful”

With well over 30 years in the soca music industry and several hit songs, Trinidadian recording artist Farmer Nappy is “Thankful.” He said as much on his latest release with the same name.

“Thankful,” an inspirational tune produced by De Red Boyz and performed by Farmer Nappy, was made public on November 11th, 2024. In addition to the audio being shared on streaming platforms, an official video was also uploaded to YouTube. Orlando Octave Is Carrying A “Heavy Load”

In a genre that is dominated by vain and prideful messages, Orlando Octave definitely stands out. The Trinidadian soca artist has become known for creating intense, socially conscious, thought-provoking music, some of which have been removed from YouTube because of their content.

Mical Teja Drops New Song & Video “Energy”

A few days ago, on October 16, Trini Soca star Mical Teja released a new single called Energy. On an uptempo track, the Trini songwriter and producer talks about the strength, passion, and vitality he has for calypso music.

Energy‘s official video, which was shared at the same time as the audio, does indeed show Mical‘s spiritedness for the genre.
