Caribbean Sunshine Bakery Will Host Benefit Concert For Lt. Stitchie

On Saturday, February 22nd, Caribbean Sunshine Bakery will host a benefit concert for gospel-dancehall artist Lt. Stitchie, who suffered a severe brain hemorrhage last year and is now receiving rehabilitative care. Since his wife, Sophia Laing, shared the news, there have been several events staged to raise funds to offset his medical costs.

The aforementioned concert will be held at the Majestic Event Center (801 John Young Pkwy) in Orlando, Florida. Among the performers will be gospel recording artist Marion Hall, formerly known as Lady Saw, reggae giants Third World, Ernie Smith, and Ed Robinson, as well as veteran dancehall artists Mr. Vegas and Lady G. Ambelique’s “Blind Spot” Is Now #3 On South Florida’s Reggae Chart

After approximately 9 weeks on the Top 20 Albums Chart in South Florida, Ambelique‘s “Blind Spot” is currently sitting at #3. This is a 14-track record that came out in November 2024 on Willie Lindo‘s HeavyBeat Records.

“Blind Spot” was produced by Willie Lindo, and it features a handful of top-tier reggae musicians. Robbie Shakespeare played bass guitar; Sly Dunbar and KashieF Lindo did the drum programming; live drums were played by Paul Douglas; keyboards, organ, piano, synth, and additional bass lines were done by Robbie Lyn and KashieF LindoDean Fraser added the saxophone; additional piano and keyboard chords were done by Dave Richards; and Willie Lindo and Hux Brown played guitar, with Ambelique, Pam Hall, Nikesha Lindo, and Shavanique delivering on the background vocals.

So far, the two breakout singles on “Blind Spot” are track #1 “I’m Thankful” and track #4 “Wash Over Gold Watch.” Both are a favorite among selectors and, as a result, are enjoying heavy rotation on reggae platforms worldwide.

L.U.S.T, the Jamaican vocal group with members Lukie D, Trilla U, Singing Melody and Tony Curtis, will be performing at The Garden (1400 N. State Road 7) in Lauderhill, Florida on Valentine’s Day, Friday, February 14.

Love with L.U.S.T, as it’s being called, is being presented by The Garden, formerly Lallos, and it will start at 7pm local time. Early bird tickets, which are USD$35 per person and USD$60 for couples, can be purchased on Carib Tix.

The “Bob Marley: One Love—Music Inspired By The Film (Deluxe)” compilation has won Best Reggae Album at this year’s Grammy Awards. It went up against Collie Buddz‘s “Take It Easy,” The Wailers“Evolution,” Shenseea‘s “Never Gets Late Here,” and Vybz Kartel‘s “Party With Me.”

The 67th Annual Grammy Awards, which honors the best recordings, compositions, and artists from September 16, 2023, to August 30, 2024, was presented on Sunday, February 2, 2025, at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, California.

Mama Africa Fest

Mama Africa Arise and Unite Productions presents Mama Africa Fest, an all-day family affair, set for Saturday, February 15, at Bath Primary School in Bath, St. Thomas. The event will have a children’s village with rides and other activities for the kids. They will also have a cultural expo and a reggae concert.

The live reggae show will be hosted by DJ Amber, and it will feature performances by Mikey General, Mikal Asher, Lazah Current, Prophecy, Laza Morgan, Luciano, Rytikal, Little John, Prince Theo, and Empress El-Issachar.

Trinidadian reggae sensation Marlon Asher will be taking his classic roots reggae style to Hawaii on Friday, February 21st. He is booked to perform at Blue Note, which is located at 2335 Kalakaua Avenue in Honolulu.

Asher‘s breakout song “Ganja Farmer” was released in 2006 and became an international hit. This tune introduced the world to his talent and ingenuity, resulting in tours with award-winning artists Steel Pulse, Maxi Priest, Gyptian, Luciano, Shaggy, Sizzla, Beenie Man, Matisyahu, and others.
